The magnets and finish issues on the JACs is overblown a bit. The magnets come loose on some of the JACs but are easily glued back in. The finish has held up nicely on the vast majority of JACs. Many get those vapor skinz anyway. They are cheap and look awesome.

Master of the understatement, Bronze ("...a bit"). ;)

Amazing mods, and at the price, better than amazing. A touch of super glue, a VaporSkinz wrap, and you're good for the longest of hauls.

I absolutely LOVE the JACs. :vapor:

And, the talk about tariffs on imports is upsetting too.
I have to disagree with you there, my friend. It's making my day! It's about time we hold up a mirror!
Free but only if it's FAIR trade!

Had a fun visit with my bike shop guy today. A while back I gifted him a pocket knife that I had customized as a thank you for all the information he has shared with me regarding repairs and restorations on the two old bikes I have been riding and fixing up. He had an old Austro Daimler sitting there, probably made in 1981, it was brought to him by a guy who told him he was dying, and he wanted it to go to someone who appreciated it for what it was, an old extremely well built classic European touring bike...I kept thinking of this old bike since first laying eyes on it, something about its vintage style frame, the provenance of it, and it has those tiny shift levers at the end of the bars.

I got it in my head to finally make an offer for it. My friend at the shop and me got to discussing things and what not, and I sat on the bike to check the fit, the saddle was set right to where it was perfect for me...more talking and he said, hey man, you got any more knives like the one you gave me? LOL, I got a whole roll of them...so....Monday I'm going to swing by with a big pile of shiny sharp things to tempt my friend. I'm pretty sure he already started getting new brake cables and shoes put on the old girl, with the rest of the parts needed to come in on his Thursday delivery. That bike has sat in a cradle waiting a few years for me to walk in and make its aquaintance, I confessed to having thought about it quite a few times since seeing it and hearing its tale. He confessed that he has been wanting to see that old bike rolling again with someone who would take care of it. kismet.

I feel like a kid at Chrismas time waiting to hop on that old ride and let it back out into the sunshine and breeze while cruising along the greenway :)

I too would pay more for stuff from China if I knew it were not being manufactured by someone young enough to be my granddaughter (technically).

Of course, that is an easy statement to make when you are currently poor, to be fair. 5 dollars, 5:50, makes not so much difference.

I also think it would be interesting to make China more of an intense, unafraid superpower as well..... I already think it IS a super power but man, imagine if it could use actual bombs as bombs instead of people-bombs, and I'm sorry if that statement is in poor taste but well....

While I am a huge fan of the Radius (3 at present) and would normally trade any Provari I own for one, my Ti P3 is in a very small group. The chance of it leaving me is roughly the same as the chance of me taking a weekend trip to Neptune. Radius is (are?) great, but the titanium P3 does so many unique things it stands alone.

But good luck in your quest.
Thanks for the well wishes GG, but it's more of a tooth fairy type wish than a quest or anything. I don't ever expect to find anyone willing to part with a Ti P3 anytime soon. Granted, I am more than lucky to have four P3 devices in my survival arsenal of ProVari mods, so I should be well equipped for the foreseeable future. The one P3 in titanium that I do have is in constant use in 350 mode, as it is my top favorite ProVari product, it just ticks all the pluses on my needs and wants list.

The Jac's are a definite consideration, just the magnets and finish puts me off a bit. The sandstorm seems like the one I would choose instead in that regard. I wont use the squid Double barrel's anymore, because of the auto fire report, the guys attitude towards safety is off. The warranty on them stated on the site still ticks me off also, even if he has been honoring warranty's past the 6 weeks. I just have a bad feeling about the guy & his company. :|

KAS

KAS, sweetie.... seems you're rarely happy with vape gear lately. :(

The JACKIES are prolly one of the most useful and solid devices we've had the pleasure of owning over the last year. Every mod has its issues, for sure, but I do think the magnet issue is "a bit" (thank you the @Bronze) overblown. The finish is not a prob either, not at all.

I've had DNA mods auto fire. I've had cheap mods auto fire. Schtuff happens, and I do believe there's been precisely ONE case of auto fire on the DB. And for the rest of what you said.... the "guys attitude towards safety" being off, I have no idea what you mean. Have you chatted with him? Hopefully yes. I do know he's extremely accessible. I'd really love to know why you have a 'bad feeling' about the guy...

I don't follow.

Alice In Chains
"Don't Follow"

Hey, I ain't never coming home
Hey, I'll just wander my own road
Hey, I can't meet you here tomorrow
Say goodbye don't follow
Misery so hollow

Hey you, you're livin' life full throttle
Hey you, pass me down that bottle, yeah
Hey you, you can't shake me round now
I get so lost and don't know how, yeah
And it hurts to care, I'm going down

Forgot my woman, lost my friends
Things I'd done and where I've been
Sleep in sweat the mirrors cold
See my face it's growin' old
Scared to death no reason why
Do whatever to get me by
Think about the things I said
Read the page it's cold and dead

Take me home [5x]

Say goodbye Don't follow

Guaranteed those were tobacco fields not long ago.
Still a lot of tobacco fields around these parts, they even plant it right next to the schools in some places  that particular field and another really large one nearby are part of the city of Raleighs water reclamation project, they spray them with the sludge from the water treatment plant to fertilize them and get rid of the sludge in a useful manner. Those sunflowers are only about knee high, I have never seen small ones like that in such a large planting, it seems this year they moved the famous "sunflower field" display to the Dorothea Dix park up in the city of Raleigh, I've had a couple folks approach me in the access lots asking where are the sunflower fields, so I got to looking it up on google...

That field in the pics is a little over a mile from one parking lot, and about four plus miles from the next one up north, I took my wife riding from the lot up north, and forgot that it was kind of uphill most of that section, she was not amused, but then I said, hey, at least it's mostly downhill back to the car!

Kas, forgive me. I have not participated much in a long while.

If you are looking for an out-and-about mod that's fairly inexpensive, I'd like to put in two cents for the Innokin Kroma-A and Zenith tank combo, which can be had for less than $50. I recently went on a trip for the first time since I started vaping. Since I had no idea what the TSA might do, I sure as heck didn't want to take one of my ProVaris or JACs. I use a couple of Zeniths on a couple of JAC Sandstorms, so I know the tank well. I bought a couple of Kroma-A/Zenith combos. The Kroma-A was great and seems fairly durable. No scratches on either the white one or the black one.

A JAC Sandstorm with a Sony VCT-6 (3000mAh) and a Zenith weighs 232 grams or 8.2 ounces. The Kroma-A (2000mAh) and a Zenith weighs 201 grams or 7.1 ounces. The latter is about an inch shorter and a half inch wider grip-wise. This combo fit better in my pocket than the JAC/Zenith would and one ounce does make a difference at certain times.

At home on a regular basis I use two Radii with Kat's Eggroll tanks and a couple off JACs with the Zenith tanks. Of the five JACs I have all of them have had magnet issues, with two of them being replaced by JAC. In fact I'm so snake-bit by the magnet issue that I leave the batteries in the mods when charging. I of course do this on the Radii also as getting those open is thumbnail killer.

Anyway, I just thought I'd throw that out.

* Was going to dump Hot Pocket guts into Ramen Noodles to make Spaghetti and use the crust as Garlic Bread, However *
Steak Marsala with Parmesan Mash and Cremini Mushrooms ... Classic comfort meets easy elegance with this Steak Marsala. This Italian restaurant staple pairs a tender Sirloin Steak with a rich reduction of fortified Marsala Cooking Wine and Cremini Mushrooms. Served next to Parmesan mashed potatoes. Sprinkled with Green Onions. Bon Appetit

Remember the story in June where the Boston CBS affiliate covered a story about a chemical leak at a factory? Where reporter Tiffany Chen stated on air that "“They manufacture e-cigarettes, and possibly use chlorine as some type of heating chemical in these e-cigarettes.” ? The story was picked up by the mainstream news services and transmitted all over the world.

No, what she said wasn't true. The company does produce heating elements, but for industrial use and nothing to do with any e-cig.

I see they have now posted a "clarification" on the story. The news clip remains, but now at the end there is a statement: "Clarification: An earlier version of this story identified Thermal Circuits as an e-cigarette manufacturer. They manufacture heating elements used in making e-cigarettes and other devices."

It doesn't happen often, but I am at a loss for words. Themal Circuits may store resistance wire for use in their industrial systems, but no one has been able to find that they market the sizes or alloys used in vaping. Or that they make any coils used in e-cigs.

I'm not sure if this fiasco is due to malice, incompetence, political pressure, or financial interests of some sort. We have such a long, hard road to travel and in this case the truth doesn't set you free at all.

OK, an addendum. Even though the FCC states that because of 1st Amendment issues they have very limited power, they also state "Broadcasters may not intentionally distort the news. The FCC states that "rigging or slanting the news is a most heinous act against the public interest."

But the system is only set up to address issues with billing, reception, indecency and the like. There's no way to file a complaint over rigged news on their website. Searching further, I find that an Official Complaint would need to be filed. It costs $225 and requires a personal appearance before the FCC along with legal representation for both sides.

Depressing.
