I've always thought the same thing. If my Radiuses bit the dust that I'd get one of these. But, for £205, I'm so relieved that my Provari's are going strong!
only £171.63, minus vat...

225.40 us, plus shipping

A Good Value!!!

I've had an eye on a Dicodes (tube) mod for as long as I've had ProVari mods. I was researching those 2 when I decided just over a couple of years ago to invest in one or the other. I chose ProVari of course and one of the many reasons was because of availability in the U.S.

Now I see Dicodes has an authorized dealer with a website here in the U.S. Not sure if that would have made an ultimate difference back when I chose ProVari over Dicodes but nice to see regardless. If I ever do get a Dicodes it will ship from a U.S. source. Don't know if I'm allowed to post the website or not but it's easily found with a google search and may be linked on the official Dicodes site ... dunno. Official Dicodes USA - Exclusive Dealer in the United States of America

It's sort of a Pavlovian response, but I absolutely will not go on a rant this time. Very short version: I made an order of instock things which in reality they did not have. Credit card was charged at the time of order. At least 3 "So sorry, we'll ship next xxxday" promises were broken. I got the order about a month later; it came with an individual's return address in Traverse City, Michigan.

Many months later, a good friend ordered from them even against my strenous objections. He didn't want to wait, they had what he wanted in stock, and he didn't want to pay the shipping from overseas. Six weeks later, the order arrived and was not in the quantities shown on their webpage. He got the EXACT same story as I did months before, that they thought everything was in stock but someone must have put the wrong parts in the wrong locations. Note that I don't know if his order shipped from California (by the way, the address they list on their website is a cinema according to Google Map) or if it came from the same mystery woman in Michigan.

So that might seem to be a fairly long explanation to all of you, but trust me - it's the bare minimum with more gory details left out. As for being an authorized dealer, I ain't buying it. From their operations and pricing it looks like when they get an order they get it from Dicodes just like the rest of us.

EDIT: Once again, I seem to have engaged in disgusting relations with a canine. Upon further research, the business at that address is Cinema Air. They apparently provide portable air conditioning units. Mea Culpa.

Thanks for the repost GeekyGeezer !!! Dicodes is simply a nice to have for me. I don't do temp control for which it is renowned ... or sub-ohm. It's complexity is WAY overkill for my low wattage vape needs. Still a nice to have if one falls in my lap.

It just struck me this morning that there's an important piece of information we don't have - the deterioration rate from storage.

Mooch says it's good for the cells to be stored at 3.7v and that's what they are at when you get them. So that's good. I have no good way of getting a charged cell to that level. I have a lot of time on my hands, but not nearly enough to check a battery in a mod every hour or so to find out when it drops to that level.

I raised the "storing and not rotating" thing as something bad. Right now, I don't know which is worse.

So, like Enaud, I'm going to just leave the new ones on the shelf until I have to use them - and hope for the best.

I'm sure there are others, but the Opus BT C3100 V2.2 will discharge batteries. I don't believe there is a way to set a target discharge voltage. But it's not a huge deal to look at the charger every once in awhile to check the voltage level.

A final word on the battery "store vs rotate" thing. I contacted Mooch through Patreon and here's his answer:

"Using a battery ages it faster then letting it sit but it still ages just sitting there. They’re just not made for storage. I recommend rotating through all the ones you have ad that minimizes usage aging but keeps them from just wasting away in storage."

we've been using the vapcells for a few months. they last a good bit longer than our aws. they are a bit long so not to overstress the contact we just snug up the bottom cap. the one i took the button off i use in a ti p3. it's a lot easier to get the cap on. i could care less about a little gap.

I recon an o-ring could be used there if that gap is bothersome (as it would be for me)

For whatever it's worth; last night one of the kids called because they needed batteries for their Billet Boxes. 2.5 years ago, I stuck a bunch of AW 16340 Protected batteries into storage, fully charged. I pulled them out last night, to charge them up for the kids, and all eight rang up at 4.19 or 4.20.

NOT questioning Mooch, as I'm sure there's some "aging" going on (with everything, now that I think about it). That being said, I'm fairly confident that they also hold a charge decently, assuming this experience is any indication.

Or a thin wafer doohickey with a diameter the same size as the battery with a button center - an 'extension' of sorts...

Theoretically, you can use those rare earth magnets, but it's not recommended, and you couldn't pay me to use them.

What size are you looking for, Classy? Forgive me for missing that.
