Oh man... I got bad news. I think we all heard "Halleluiah" by Jeff Buckley, so I won't link it.
But, this has been a rather popular "offering" on American Idol over the years.

I feel sad to report that this may be the "best" one.... only in comparson to OTHER performances, though.
Fortunately I was able to find the video without the 10 minutes of discussing the "most embarrassing" thing to ever happen to his dreads, that was really boring. Unlike THIS:
This one is actually how it SHOULD be done, I'm just giving ya'll an "aural recovery" period. It's actually as good as Jeff Buckley I think (not joking to trick you)
I am afraid there is this show called the Voice, and okay it's not the WORST version in the world. I think the biggest problem with this dude is he is a bit OVER EMOTIVE and the ARRANGEMNT OMG. Syrupy.
Also X factor, and I'm afraid there are FOUR of them. Yes. Four.
A former WINNER I THINK comes back to Idol for an "impromptu" performance in how to OVER EMOTE I LOVE THIS ONE SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOLOL. (It's probably the worst one on here, although I realize that is somewhat subjective but OH My.
Constantine Maroulis sings Hallelujah
Okay, done tormenting you for the night I promise.

I won't even link it directly....
Oh and to those not able to understand the Joys and the Woes of American Idol and other such shows, well I feel sad for you. You don't have to listen, and honestly one of my most well loved experiences was taking my mom to an AMERICAN IDOLS concert. It was the Adam Lambert year and her first concert. Rather than being "unable" to take it (it was her first concert, she lived a sheltered life as a youth) well, I brought her earplugs and bought her an Adam Lambert poster when she was too embarrased to do it and we had a GREAT time!!!
Music is not just for the posers and the snobbish, it is for those with laughter and love in their heart. If your mom had an activity she loved, you should have been happy WITH her.
I have found certain American Idol moments to be just lovely, totally hilarious, and utterly heinous from time to time, but I guess your attitude determines things. I turned down a spot at Julliard for violin and quite frankly, I know "good" from bad, and also used to routinely go listen to The Worst Zappa Cover band On Earth, LOL, and it was FABULOUS.
