same rabbit hole !
I kind of figured that. I got sucked in on the last 2 just this last week. But I’m not going to blow my brains out over it. Three of them are pretty desirable, so in a pinch I could get my money back in the classies. Other two are just basic, every day workhorses. I am for sure done. How many did you end up with?

Is it just me or does the thought of having a smoke ever cross any other long time vapers minds?

It's not like an irresistible urge, just a random thing that sometimes comes into my mind when driving around, like sometimes I want to have just one cig for old times sake. I have been smoke free for four and a half years, and this type of thoughts are a more recent development...never had these type of thoughts for at least four years.

I used to smoke cigars, (Garcia Y Vega Miniatures) and a lot of them. I also liked a lot of the Swisher Sweets, and other flavored cigars. When I switched to vaping, the flavors just blew me away, I never really looked back, after I switched over I never really tried any tobacco flavors, but I would like to try a good DIY cigar recipe if I found one. That is as close as I have come to this urge. :|

I made a triple batch of chocolate peanut butter cobbler...it is level with the top of the pan
and it's not done cooking !
I suppose that if it overflows I can dump it into a different dish for serving as it's a bit of a messy thing anyway !

...but still...ohmygosh !!!
Gimmie!

It would be nothing like "old times sake". The experience would be completely different. The taste, the feel, the entire thing. You couldn't relive it with one smoke so you can put your mind to rest and not bother. :)

5. Anna must have at least 4. That’s 3 new Provari owners getting about 17 units out of stashes and storage, and putting them to use. Good for the Provari Nation. Also, even though it was labeled as “rest in peace”, I see the Provari won in another thread for favorite vaping mod of 2017.

Provari lives on.

Used the money I saved over the last 2 months from not buying cigs.
Never paid over $50 for a mini and $100 for a P3.
I’m happy !

Has anyone seen any Black Friday deals for vape stuff that they couldn't pass up? I'm not into fog machines. I vape 1.0ohm CLR or 1.8ohm Nautilus coils at 11 to 14 watts. In the last eight hours I've received nearly 50 emails with all sorts of deals, none of which tickled my tuna.

Your tuna is ticklish??? Oh JUMA, I learn more about you every day.

Highly doubt it's just you, sweetie. I've thought of it, and I'll be 7 this January. It hits me primarily when I'm out at a local haunt, and EVERYONE is smoking. I don't miss the actual smoke, but I'm still back in time with all that surrounds it (the taking a cig out of the pack, the asking a cute man for a light, that first burning of the plant, that first inhale and the body feeling the whoosh of the instant rush of nic... all that).

THEN, the smell of the nasty smoke overwhelms my senses, and shocks me right back into reality, and a reality for which I'm truly still, after all these years, surprised, and pleased.

I do not smoke. Those words alone mean more to me that I can possibly describe.

Grateful, I.

Thank you, E. Thanksgiving is a bit fuller and more lush because of this brief discussion.

Recent Firefox Update: What has bothered me most about the upgrade is how it affected my homepage. Remember when New Tab, you could drag and drop and pin favorite sites to New Tab? Then with the new Firefox update, all that changed and there is no more drag and drop and pin to New Tab.

Well ... here's the fix to get the old way back if that's what you want. It's just a simple change in Firefox's about:config. Easily switched between the new and old and old and new with just a click and change from true to false or back again. After making a change, don't forget to close and reopen Firefox ...

Type in the address bar about:config (press Enter) (promise to be careful, if asked)

Type in the search bar and look for the preference :

browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.enabled

Click and set its value to false

Then close and restart Firefox.

That's it ... you're welcome :)

The shelves on the left is part of my mixing desk I made, the desk top is just 161/2" wide. I made it narrow like that for 2 reasons, first because of limited space, two because it was just for mixing, everything in arms reach, and it would force me to not let it get cluttered up. The desk also has drawers that I have not finished yet, I am going to try to work on finishing them now. The face of the drawers is a mix of Oak and stained pine.
Thanks, it has been fun working on this setup, and all inspired by Vaping and DIY. Most of these shelves have been made from skids and crates from work, and scrap materials, though I have bought some items. So most of it has cost me very little to make, just some labor. :)

It's very, very nice!

Black Friday: Not buying anything new this year. I have everything I need. Vape gear included. I'm in maintenance mode. If something primary or essential breaks, I'll fix or replace.

I have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. Not least of which is having survived 64 years virtually unscathed except by time and life experience. It hasn't always been that way. We each have individual memories of years past and today I think about the Thanksgivings ALWAYS spent at the grandparents house and after a huge meal, watching football in black and white on the TV with my grandfather, Pop. As a young man out in the real world and far from family, holidays were much different ... and sometimes difficult.

One Thanksgiving in Mobile Alabama MANY years ago I'd just broken up with a girlfriend and ended a three year relationship. THEN ... lost a job. SO ... Thanksgiving, I found myself without heat or electricity in my apartment because of non-payment. My apartment was in a rather older home that had been converted into 2 apartments. What I did was modify an extension cord with prongs on both ends ... went into the basement of the house ... found an electric receptacle that was powered by the other apartment ... plugged the extension cord into the receptacle and the other end into a receptacle in my living room. What that did was give me power at least to the living room and I could then plug in a heater. It basically was just a matter of connecting two wires together ... one wire power by the other apartment and the wiring in my apartment. No idea how much the bill jumped that month for the other apartment. Maybe not much though. Dunno. I did what I had to do to survive. Not proud of it, it was what it was.

I could only rob peter to pay paul for so long as I sought a new job in earnest. Couldn't find one before I found myself homeless for 3 months. Lived in a tent in the woods by a lake with a good size creek attached, where I could bath and wash cooking gear. Nothing but me and nature for 3 months. No phone calls. No mail. No nothing. I'd see people out on the highway just going down the road without a care in the world. Maybe headed to 7-11 or whatever ... stuff no one gives much thought to, that I couldn't do. Had no way of doing so. I could sit in my truck and listen to the radio but that was as far as I could go. Completely and utterly broke. Kinda found myself.

By the grace of goD, things got better. MUCH better and I pulled myself up by my bootstraps. Oh but those days of endless possibilities ... no where to go but up. These days, life is VERY good and I have MUCH to be thankful for !!! ... Happy Thanksgiving y'all :)

I never think of cigs and cigars, but I do think about my pipes. If I ever find out I'm terminal with something, I'm immediately ordering a five pound bag of Dunhill Early Morning Pipe and six or eight Savinelli Hercules 606 pipes.

Wow! What story. I've been very lucky for 62 years now, excepting of course death of a sibling, parents, grandparents and dear friends.

While I smoked just about everything, I was smoking Black & Mild cigars when I started vaping. I found Space Jam Eclipse early on and 90% of my vaping has been with that juice. I cannot taste the tobacco in it as Kat can, but to my taste buds it's a lot like B&M cigars.

Why I vape non-flavored: ANYTHING flavored just makes me want the real thing ... and shortens the life of coils .. plus some flavors have things I don't want in my lungs. Vaping flavors into my lungs, I just don't need or trust. Heck, I don't even fully trust PG/VG on some level.

I searched for a long time for a tobacco flavor. Tried off the shelf and DIY. Nothing even came close to the enjoyment of smoking. Besides, every time I'd change a coil ... it STANK ... like a month old ashtray. Regardless ... just made me want to smoke.

So, non-flavored it is. If I can't enjoy the most primal, essential, simplest part of vape ... then I can't vape.

For those who just like to read, kill time and might be wondering how I pulled myself up out of homelessness those MANY years ago, the rest of the story:

I went into "business" for myself. I passed out flyers in mobile home parks advertising that I would underpin their mobile home (put a skirt around a mobile home) if they would buy/pay for the material necessary and listed on the flyer. I basically sold my labor door to door. I had the necessary tools ... a circular saw, drill, measuring tape and carpenter's pencil.

It was slow going at first. People were prudently hesitant of course. The first mobile home I underpinned took me all day to do, but soon got so good at it, I could do 3 a day by myself ... if I started early. Then people noticed how much nicer those mobile homes looked that I'd worked on and they wanted it done to theirs too !!! It snowballed from there. There was even one whole section 8 housing mobile home park where the owner/manager paid me to underpin every single one of the homes in the whole dang park. At one point, I had two other guys in similar circumstance and skill as myself, working with me ... for a while. Things were working out, I wasn't living in a tent anymore LOL, but work was also starting to slow down after a while. There were only so many mobile homes and parks in town and near around.

I underpinned maybe some two hundred or so mobile homes before I found a job in a machine shop. I programmed (on mylar flex-writer tape) and operated NC controlled machining centers as well as operated conventional equipment. Made industrial pumps. After only 5 years, I'd worked my way up to supervisor in charge of 15 people.

But I became bored with factory work and I had extremely itchy feet. Sure I was successful as a salaried supervisor in a machine shop. I was single, had a three bedroom home that belonged to me, boat motor trailer, motorcycle, truck AND car but I desperately wanted to see the world. At the age of 33 I joined the Navy at a substantial and severe pay cut just to realize my dreams and overcome a nagging guilt for having never served my country. In 1986, Recruiter came to my home, looked around and wide eyed asked, "What the heck are you doing?" LOL. Told the fella to get me off to boot camp as soon as possible before I changed my mind. Sold everything and began a career in the military as an "elderly recruit". Eventually advanced to Chief Petty Officer and retired in 2006. Promised myself I'd NEVER work for someone else ever again ... and haven't. Been retired 11 years now.

... but I still have a circular saw, measuring tape ... and a pencil around here somewhere (pic is several years old)

I still smoke the odd cigar as I don’t inhale and it has never made me crave cigarettes.

If I got something terminal or zombies attacked, I would likely seek out something much more self destructive than a pipe. ;)

So my 2 year vapersary just passed and my wife told me to buy something nice to celebrate the milestone.

I don’t need any vape stuff, I have too many bass guitars and musical equipment.... so I bought my first $100+ folding knife. I have always liked having knives around as I am outdoorsy, but never bought really expensive (to me) one. So $120 later, nice new Spyderco Para 3 is on the way. Buyers remorse? Nope. That’s only a week’s worth of cigarettes!
