can I use button top lg hg2 batteries in my provari mini ?
I have a different opinion on this. I have a set of HG2 button tops. The only mods that I am comfortable using them in is my 2.5's and P3. Most other vape mods have very little "travel" in the spring loaded pin. The HG2 is about a mm or so longer than a standard flat top or AW button top.

The P2/P2.5 end cap has a very thin spring with enough travel that it can handle the slightly longer length. This is my personal opinion, based on screwing on the end cap and not finding it overly tight. In fact it does not feel tighter than an AW because the spring is not very robust and has plenty of travel built into it.

I did these tests on a standard P2.5 with a standard extended end cap. The mini does not accommodate 18650 with the stock parts. I am assuming you acquired an extra extension tube to take it from the stock 18490 max size to 18650?

I don't recall using the HG2 button tops for any length of time in my P2.5s because I usually use them with the shorter batteries. If you take my word for it I won't be responsible for the board breaking loose. I just don't see any reason why it would. Caveat Emptor, though.

I would assume, you found it difficult to open and tighten the cap of the bottle. Would I be right?

R
Yeah, exactly, I've got big hands and the space to work with is very tight. It was easier to just yank the tube and fill it, then finagle the tube back on, I am thinking of using it for travel, and just putting a regular dripper attie on there and forget the bottle. I like the switch they used, makes it safer to lug around in a pocket.

I believe the question I have is.... If you wanted a mini, why not use it like a mini? I wanted a tube mod that could take a larger battery, so I got a P3. I really love it (more and more each day as the time to hand it to the husband approaches...) :) That thing is HEFTY he's gonna love it....

You can turn a mini into any configuration, and use all 3 battery sizes. You can't do it with a standard. Without a hacksaw :). Your P3 is a mini, but configured the way mini's should have been from day one. I use all 3 different battery sizes depending on my needs at the moment. The mini is a perfect size but rips through batteries too quickly. The 18650 is a perfect battery capacity but about a half a foot too long (or it sometimes seems that way).

Terry, did you get that extension tube from Provape? My recollection is that they did not come up with that until the Ti P2.5 and then the P3. I also recollect that it was almost impossible to buy them from Provape. I think they kind of doled them out if you bugged them on a support ticket to do so, but never listed them on the site? Maybe they released stock when they were clearing all the inventory in the end? I would think a black one would be quite rare? Or maybe my memory is faulty.

You remember accurately, they did offer the satin finish rings but if one wanted a black or other color, you needed to open a ticket and go that route, and if the benevolent wizard behind the curtain was in a favorable mood, he or she would grant your request and bequeath you a ticket request whereby you could purchase said Unobtanium.

In the last days, they were tossing everything out on the table to be had for a song...

I like the mini setup, and mostly run with 350 cells, second favorite is using a mini with an extender cap for 490 cells, I think the rounded edges of the extender cap is way more comfy in hand...so much so that I actually sanded a radius onto the edges of several regular end caps and buffed them out to a mirror polish.

I was just vaping my P2.5 Dragon with P3 top, with a P3 Kabuki. When I went into the menu, the 2nd digit of the LCD did not display. I pulled the battery, reinserted it, and the digit sort of winked into view like a loose light bulb (presumably bad solder joint???). I let it sit awhile and now the digit is gone again. Bummer. And I really like that Dragon.

I have a gold Zenkote that is my current dripper Provi...it was bought at the end , and the decimal point doesn't display, well, sometimes it will display for a little while, but mostly, no decimal point. Maybe they had a bad batch of LCD displays?
