Hey, has anyone ascertained if it matters having Ver. 40cc on your Radius if not going to use coil control? Should one go back to Ver. 26? In other words, I don't plan on using coil control but have Ver. 40cc installed because I had understood all you have to do is not turn it on if not going to use it and it makes no difference in performance. Has anyone not using coil control noticed a difference in performance between Ver. 40cc and Ver. 26?
I cannot imagine why anyone would not want the 60 watt version. Coil control is nothing more than an option and it is either on or off.

Unless someone knows something else about that 60w version that I don't know.

From what I've read, the 40cc firmware simply adds the extra coil control (temp control) features and doesn't affect anything else. If anything, it's there if you want to play with it and might help resale value if the next person wanted to play with it too.

Also, it's available to either the 40w Radius or 60w.

IMO, temp control is mostly helpful with rta's, since it makes wicking them more forgivable and/or extended slow drags easier since it prevents the cotton burning. But, YMMV with "coil control" since I've read it's a pain to set up correctly.

Forums are funny, people come, people go, I've been visiting an old haunt lately, and life happens to all of us at some point.

I know, but I am a worrier and when people don't say bye or later or something...

Thanks guys!

Yeah, I have the 60 watt Radius. Jackie has both the 60 watt and 40 watt. We updated to 40cc on all of them even though we don't plan on using coil control ever. We did that just in case we ever wanted to and understood it didn't matter one way or the other.

Does that make sense? I think Josh knows what I am saying. I just didn't want to screw myself somehow with Ver. 40cc if we never used coil control. It looks like not. Jackie says she doesn't notice any difference.

Early on, a couple of people that had updated to Ver. 40cc and didn't use coil control said they experienced a glitch or two so reverted back to Ver. 26

That's why I asked...

personal feeling from my experience(might be my imagination)is that the radius 40w doesn't do that good with the 40cc update.so i reverted it to 26.(i also saw other persons reporting that).
i once got a weird error while activating the CC by mistake, but also got an error the first time i inserted a battery after reverting to ver 26.

i'd go with 'if it ain't broke ..'

Quick question in regards to the Kabuki. Where do I get spare tanks for the P3 Kabuki tanks? I ordered a bunch but they don't fit these Kabuki.

I got a 10 pack from ProVari Fuel. None work. One side is too small in diameter.

Weird.
I was thinking..

Do you have the original (buna) o-rings on your Kabuki? If so you may want to try these. Your replacement glass may fit then.

OMG!-Rings

Yeah, see...
It only matters 'cause we're down to the wire and it kind of matters...

Few people will say, "Well guys, I've had enough ECF so I'm checking out." Just doesnt happen that way.
On another forum I have been on for many years, a good friend there left me a PM, it was a breadcrumb, he then went on to commit " forum suicide", got himself a permanent vacation...

I've also seen folks ping a few friends and then take a hiatus, more often than not, they just post less and less, then one day they are just gone...in a bigger pond it's not so noticeable, but if the pond is a smaller one, it is more so...

I do have the original o rings. But it really is only one end of the glass tube that won't fit. I flip the tube and it then fits the part that wouldn't before but then it won't fit the part that it originally fit.

I've already placed an order for eight tubes. :D

If these don't fit, I will look into the link for o rings.

I wonder if those glass parts were sitting on something warm that distorted them.

I dunno:blink: I tried them out on a couple of my kubuki and same thing.
I have been wondering, were these tubes from HOH and then re sold by ProVari fuel?, or were they from some other manufacturer?

I don't know where they originated from.

Are there other Kabuki that have a different size? It's just weird how the one end is off size.

I have 8 of them left. One broke rolling off the table, the other broke when I tried to gently force it on.

Don't try to force glass onto something!

I just now got a reply from Zen, the upgrades server is still on line as of right now, and in his words, " it could go offline at any moment." If anyone has Any devices they want to upgrade, they should do it ASAP.

I specifically mentioned the Radius in the convo, and that was his reply.

When they pull the plug on that server, it's game over for any updates folks.

I'm confused. I bought the ProVari Programmer because I thought I might run across a used P3 or Radius in the future that needed updating. Right before he left ProVape, Blake updated my Radii and P3s to the last software PV had released.

I assumed the Programmer included all the drivers and one could do updates without downloading from the net. But Zen is saying that's not true, the drivers have to come from a website and that it could go down at anytime?

I finally pulled the Programmer box off the shelf, opened it up and all I received was USB key containing a password file, an installation guide and the Programmer Setup program version 1.2. From looking at the installation guide it appears no drivers are in included in the setup program. To me this means Zen is correct.

I might as well pitch Programmer device and cables in the trash as they are not going to do me much good now. So ENAUD you agree? If so, then anyone who wants the Programmer, you can have it for the postage to you.

While I use my ProVaris every day, it's only five out of 36, so if one dies, I'm not going ProVari-less.
