Yeah, I've done that (mainly because I worked on an eating disorder unit and that is a thing, I wanted to see what it was like.) It's not very satisfying. There is something about digestion that adds to satisfaction if you ask me.

The French Canadians are full of cheese. That's like saying gumbo is the equivalent of French onion soup because it was once occupied by France. I think. It's still early yet so padonai moi.

Wife asked for shrimp scampi the other day, so here's a rendition incorporating a little lobster tail to add depth to the sauteed mushroom, shallots, red bell peppers and sun dried smoked tomatoes, the generous portion of butter and olive oil first infused with a deep garlic and herb medley that was slow sweated on very low heat to caramelize,, then on to a quick fry and high heat white wine reduction before tossing in the GF pasta... garnished with a fresh squeeze of lemon juice...Mmmm

Yesterday my wife braised a beef brisket in the Dutch oven, I saved the drippings from the pan, and right now have four large onions sliced as thin as possible sitting in a skillet with a bunch of butter, garlic, splash of red wine vinegar and worchestershire sauce on low heat...

What am I cooking?

Dunno (or didn't at the moment), but can tell you what you're whetting.

Sugar looks worried. Is it because of the cone Mason is wearing?

And what did te surgeon say about the tumor? Was he able to get it all?

When I worked at the vet hospital the surgical nurse dubbed me the pain police because I kept asking her if the surgeries had had enough pain meds. So Is Mason on pain meds? Do you know the name?

Mason is on Tramadol (pain) and Previcox (inflammation). Surgery was last Thursday and tomorrow is the last of the Tramadol and Wednesday is the last of the Previcox. Lab results won't be back until sometime later this week. They said if I havn't heard from them by Friday ... call. Dr Martin did say he thinks he got good margins. I'm so glad my local vet gave me a referral to a board certified vet surgeon. The procedure was more involved than a routine neuter. In fact, there was nothing wrong with Mason's prostate or testicles, but in order to get good margins with the tumor removal, Mason's entire scrotal sac had to be removed. Nothing left there to hold his testicles. Mason has been handling it really well. Better than I expected ... so far. Stitches are scheduled to come out 9 Aug. I have quite clear pics of the surgery site, but too graphic to post here. This pic was last Friday, a day after surgery and first day home.

So there I was, mulling about the yard in the rain today, when I took out my trusty pocket knife and clipped a few sprigs of rosemary, on to another bed I clipped some thyme, and mint, and then some oregano sprigs...

I was kicking the dirt because one of my bikes has a worn out chain and chewed up sprockets, and the parts won't be in till Thursday...

Wife went shopping last weekend, always a dangerous thing...

Historical background (joke):
A man walked into a DIY store and asked for a specific piece of equipment.
Customer: How much?
Salesman: 320
Customer: It's only 280 down the street.
Salesman: My advice is go there and buy it.
Customer: They don't have any in stock.
Salesman: When we don't have any in stock, it's also 280, but when we do have it in stock, it's 320.
Genuine joke told to me about 40 years ago, with embellishments to make it funier.

One month ago I went to a large computer store to order a new PC to my specifications. Whilst there, I looked for a specific wireless keyboard they had listed at €95, sadly they had none in stock. I went back to them today, they had them in stock and it cost me €119.
The moral of this story is: Infamy, Infamy, they've all got it Infamy!

UP in The Diner ~~~
* Hocus-Pocus Focus Y'all *
Salmon with Dill Crema and Green Beans Amandine ... Way back when, a thousand or so years ago, Europeans believed that dill warded away witches and defended against spells. That was a long time ago; no need to resort to hocus-pocus to enjoy the anise-esque flavor of dill. The herb is paired, as it so often is, with salmon, specifically a stupendous dill crema that dots every bite with delight. Yeah and bonus, it'll keep you from being turned into a toad !!! ... maybe. Bon Appetit
