The Coors I'm sipping in that pic was a treat back then. You couldn't get Coors east of the Mississippi unless one of your friends was a long haul trucker and brought a few cases back. Tasted different, better than what you find today. Maybe so hard to get had something to do with it. Dunno

EDIT: At that time, I was a Miller drinking guy. $1.79-1.89 a six pack. Paid Zany Murphy (R.I.P.) my trucker friend a dollar a bottle for Coors when he brought some back from time to time. Good stuff. Good times
I remember that about Coors. It was to die for. It sucks now. :)

Ah, the legendary stuff. It wasn't available in some places west of the mississippi either. We went racing in Phoenix and part of the appeal of the trip is that we had lots of room in the car trailer to haul back that unicorn liquid. But best laid plans... We got as far as Oklahoma on the way back before we were satisifed we were on schedule and had time to stop. And then we learned that the state (at least back then) made buying liquor something like renewing your license plate with bureaucrats and dismal state run locations. We finally found an ABC store, weren't sure how to function, and expected to see machine gun security stations inside the door. But we did get some cases and were sorely disappointed when we actually tasted the swill.

The beer was bad enough, but the cans were some sort of a new ecology-friendly thing - No church key, no pull tab, just a couple of circles on the top of the can. We finally figured out you were supposed to press the small button to vent the pressure, so then you could press the big one to actually drink the stuff. Maybe it was supposed to go the other way around. We tried both methods and it was a frustrating experience for thirsty younguns. So - bad beer, cut fingers and thumbs, and another legend for 20-somethings blown all to pieces.

Watching the Dead Files on the Travel channel. Something new for me since I don't watch much TV.

I was just talking with the dog in that I don't think I would mind being a ghost in someone's house. I think I would just be playful, like filling shoes with shaving cream.

Just in a silly way. Life, or death, should still be enjoyable.

Zany (I've misspelled it now that I think about it ... Zannie ... was really his name) brought back other stuff too when he was trucking. He never drove to Jamaica, so not sure how he got stuff from there ... and Acapulco ... and Panama ...but we sure were glad he did ;) ... foreign goods were cheap back then too. Even the best foreign goods LOL

The shirt says rock, but I'm picking up a Hall and Oates vibe

LOL! No H&O, but it was definitely a misnomer. I think it was Boston, Rundgren, Outlaws...

A couple-few other bands too. Far from a "World Series" of that particular era.

Hyperbole much, Meadowlands (as it was known back then)? Methinks yes.

I was more of a Zeppelin/Sabbath/Rush/Yes (etc) guy back then. None of the bands that day were in my faves list, but the Outlaws always rocked it live, so there was that.

ALL the money I EVER saved with that FlowBee ... I spent on vape stuff. Shoot
And pulled the trigger on a svoemesto Kayfun [Lite] MTL RTA - 22mm from CDV just today. The vape mail wait begins.

By the way, how do you pronounce "svoemesto" anyway ??

I'm sorry, the 70s were not "just a blur" if you grew up in them. They were TRAUMATIZING. They were a PROBLEM.

All that freaking shag carpet and Cat Stevens and whatnot. It wasn't cool. I YEARNED to be a 60s kid so hard, I almost joined the rainbow people instead of going to college. (Probably a wise final choice on my part perhaps aided and abetted by a few "We will KILL you" by my parents.)

To be fair though, they raised me in the 70s.

And OH GOD IN MY SLIGHTLY later years, the 80s CAME. My mother owned "Wham" albums and she did not hide them in the laundry basket as was appropriate, she like, PLAYED THEM OFTEN.

This is the ONLY George Michael offering that has EVER been worthwhile. LOL

I will add, I got so many sad heads in hands, I will not even mention how digestion is going other than there is a threshold of "too much'" laxative in a person's day, and I wildly exceeded it. I did make it though my day and didn't get fired even.

LOL

It's been a fun week...finally got the contracted plumber to re-pipe the whole house with new feed lines. It feels so good to not be sitting on a ticking water time bomb anymore. Had a couple issues that needed resolving afterwards... and Saturday the paint/drywall repair guy comes in and we are done :) I feel like my whole week has been held hostage by waiting on these guys to show up and hanging out while they bash away and get their job done here, all the while the kitties were locked away and terrified at all the noises...

tomorrow I really need a break, so I plan to explore a new section of trail, that leads to a park built on an old Raleigh landfill...my local bike guy sais that there is a path to the top of it and you can see downtown Raleigh from the top of the mound.

Today's temps were in the mid 90's so I am planning on bringing my liter thermos bottle with ice water for hydration, and also going to carry two bottles (20 oz) in my bottle cages...probably mostly ice and just drink them as it melts. should be a fun day, will definitely make it to the big dam, maybe make it only a 20 mile ride, maybe a 40...haven't really decided where to start out yet.
