When the French go weird they go all out. It's admirable, in a way. What's his name, the human spider that climbs buildings without... anything? Large, terrifying buildings that like, give me vertigo to look UP with teeny tiny cracks here and there?

Was he French or French Canadian? I can't remember now.

But, well, I salute you. Many freedom fries to you!

FAKE NEWS!
My money is on the "Oil" that they bought on the street and mixed into their juice is what got them sick.
They should stick to eating Tide Pods

I hate CNN almost as much as the news channel (I always forget the letters) with the plastic robot androgynous Ken doll thing, and the most truculent looking "lady from Holland" ever.

That should identify it though. I'm afraid to take on that news channel there is no telling the number of weapons hidden inside the robot.

Had a nice little 45 mile ride today on the Trek roadbike. saw a sweet spike antlered buck, and came across a very bright green snake, about the diameter of a pencil, and a foot long. very pretty animal. I doubled back to shoo it off the tarmac for it's own safety. There was a big flock of geese in a field feeding on some grasses, and also spooked quite a few rabbits.

I think I got the calorie thing dialed in now, even though today I was a little shy on what I brought with...live and learn. If I can do a 45 mile ride on a warm day with insufficient calories on board, I see no obstacle to making my 64 mile up & back ride of the entire trail when the weather cools...going to keep training and focus on "intervals" like sprinting, and strength/ climbing stuff. I can now go uphill in higher gears and stomp the pedals and keep up the pace, but one piece of kit on my bike , the adjustable angle quill stem for the handlebars is squeaking and complaining...going to find a welder to draw a bead on this thing and make it fixed...it is where I want it so no need for adjustability anymore. Once welded it should be much stronger so I will be able to put all my weight onto the bars in a climb without worry...
I love this stuff...
The folks in the condo under mine decided to sell, and decided to sell a bunch of their stuff including his bike. Nothing fancy, Specialized Sport, looks like it was $500 new. But, I got it for $35. My first bike ride in 20yrs, if not longer. You never forget how, as is often said. But, you do forget how to keep balanced, change gears...
Went to the local bike shop to get a helmet, which ended up costing almost exactly what the bike cost.
I wasn't going to buy one, since when we were all kids there wasn't any such thing and we all survived. In fact, does anyone recall anyone who got brain injured off a bike? But, when I realized that my balance wasn't quite what I remembered, and changing gears while in flight wasn't as easy as I recall, I bit the bullet.
Rode a bike path in Northampton MA, off the street under a canopy of trees, for 11 miles or so roundtrip to Amherst. Great fun. I think I've found another hobby.

Was that real? It's not a short flight. What was he riding on?
It was real, he used a few turbine engines like what they use in RC jets, and fuel strapped to him somehow and he needed to refuel midway, first attempt he wound up missing his refuel and plunged into the water. pretty impressive feat that...

I've got four bikes now and am thinking of adding a fifth, a single speed urban bike for riding in the neighborhood and occasional trail duty:facepalm: it can be an obsession:laugh: kudos on the score you got, it's like being a kid all over again, no!? And yeah, I was skeptical about the helmet thing, but now I do not ride without one...I've already gone down twice in the last year, once because I stalled in a sharp turn and could not unclip my cleats in time, the other I was crossing a wooden planked bridge with a lot of speed in the rain, the bike shot out from under me and I was slammed to the ground before I even realized what was happening...still got some marks from that crash...
