An easy afternoon in the Saloon. :) They are radio staples. The first song is based upon a true story. The writer of the song was confined to a wheelchair. His new bride loved to dance and at the wedding she danced with many others...but he told her to remember who she was going home with. Many songs have backstories.

Knoppler is a virtuoso
Absolutely! I was too busy with the material/financial world when they were a new band, so I'd heard of them but never paid attention. Good stuff, and I like the way they all bounce up and down.

I got lost in the woods when I was a lot younger, I panicked , and started to run...then I got ahold of myself and just stopped, and tried really hard to just think. Hard to do with your head swimming in adrenalin. That ride the other day was a similar feeling...everything looked the same every turn I took. Now that I know the layout I know that wont happen again, but I got to say, my throat was dry, and my heart was pounding for a little while out there...your experience in the desert, that could have ended in a bad way. A buddy of mine who I had skydived with several times got lost and injured out in Moab, wound up becoming a missing person, and wasn't found for several months after his disappearance. He was found less than a quarter mile from his trailer where he took refuge behind a boulder and succumbed to his injuries and the elements...
Yes, my friend. That's why I said I cringe when I look back on that. Not the only thing I've done which I cringe over years later. But, I'm still here, for good or bad, to tell the tales.

Did I disappoint like, @AstroTurf but make everyone else happy?

Friday was the day I figured out, government ALL government, needs to be privatized. I am not kidding about this, honestly. I mean, it's nice that being nice to each other is a "value" but I wrote an email that like.... NO one in the private sector would have batted an eyelid honestly, and well, really I mean that it was just a summary of events. Like, I got called down to my supervisor who was so busy batting about the bush with "I consider you a valuable team member and nothing has changed and he went on SO long I was like, "UH, is this about that email?"

Then he got on about "Being from the city too" and EVERY fiber of my scrappy little Baltimore (private person) wanted to say then, "Well, since we are both HOOD rats, how about OUT with it Mah BROTHA and we will see where this leads." Anyway instead it wound up being like a big ole "I am so sorry I had no idea anyone would find it offensive, perhaps my sadness and distress over the patient's sadness and distress got the better of me AND AND AND--" Yeah so we ended up sharing a very womanly handshake, initiated by myself.... I have NEVER more in all my born days wanted to call a black dude a "Pu:censored:y because he did not at ALL care about the patient at all, or the outcome, just harmony and not being said to have been incorrect, despite being incorrect. Although he is super caring and all.

I'm cool. I can pretend to be all shiny and happy all day long ,I just have a hard time compromising patient care but if that is what comes of THAT I will be learning to never send an email again and using much more transient like, forms of talking. Etc. Also I am going to have to prioritize me at all times, and to a certain extent, I'm getting older, that is not a bad thing etc.

Sheesh. Privatize it. ALL OF IT. The presidency. If promises are not met .you pay back the contract plus interest.

This morning...

I woke up super convince it was a work day and it wasn't. That moment of realization is similar to living right below the fall line but seeing snow right outside the window.

The reverse thought though? It's like seeing a meteor hurtling toward earth.

I like the first one though.

Due to different time zones, it's already Monday in Douglas. Enjoy your Bonus Day!

@kas122461 , that is an awesome collection. So many A-level participants. It was a treat to identify the supporting performers and realize just how magnificent the event was.

If they perform in the Saloon, it would definitely be a packed Saloon. :)

Edit: the back-up female singers...hubba-hubba.

After I posted those I looked at the poster's page, and there is a bunch of old clips of Roy, that I have not seen before. I could spend hours there. :|

Excellent selection, KAS. I have read that the smell can evoke the greatest emotional responses. I may be a an unrespectable minority but for me music does that most powerfully. Listening to those, I was transported back, not to '88, but back to the very early '60's. High school writ large but with all of the unpleasant memories fading and the good memories most prominent.
