lovely... I guess I'm in the same boat

Sucks

Make that 4 I just mailed mine off to be fixed.Hell even a blob of hot glue inside to hold the wire would be an upgrade.

That would be 5.

Puresmoker, I highly suggest you guys take a serious look at the cord 'boot' that connects the cord to the aluminum body. Ya'll need to replace that part with a fixed boot. Something that doesn't spin or this will just keep happening.

I really want to get a Prodigy V2 from you guys, but I'm not impressed so far with the quality of my PT. Don't know if it's any different with the V2, but I have little faith. :( That was on my top of my list of mods. Now the Chuck dethrones it.

Anyway, I sent the PT back about a week ago. I guess they should have it by now. Hope it gets back to me soon.

The first incarnation of the original V1 USBpass from Puresmoker, I believe, had this problem as well(i.e. the freely spinning cord placed torque on the solder points and , eventually , they would give). PS remedied this by placing a "pin" through the body of the V1 USBPass to lock the cord into a stationary position(this is the V1 USBpass version that I purchased - the "pinned" version). It certainly remedied the spinning cord/solder point problem(on mine the cord hasn't spun one solitary degree since I got it), however, at least initially before the cord "broke in", it made the whole unit a bit unweilding as the locked in place cord would flop around like a fish when you would move the PT around from position to position. As the cord broke in this problem became much less noticeable. I thought they were supposed to integrate this "pinned cord"(actually with a double pin) on the newer generation PT's. I guess they haven't, although I can't speak from experience, I only own the V1 PT.

Got the V2 pt today and I'm vaping on it now.

Performs as a 5v device, as expected, but the cord was NOT attached in any way to the boot to inhibit spinning and breaking solders. I wrapped some black electrical tape around the joint even before plugging it in and this seems to do the trick. At least until the stiff cord breaks in. I'm hoping that by that point I won't need the tape there to secure the device...shouldn't really have to take such measures on a NEW and EXPENSIVE product though.

I have Still have my Original V1 Black USB PT the un-pined version and I have had no issues from it at all. My cord has never really moved in my grommet but then again I have fairly large hands so my hand does overlap down onto the grommet when I'm holding the PT. If you are truly worried about this issue there is a very simple preventative step you can do to eliminate the issue altogether. Pull the grommet out and then above where the ground wire is sandwiched between the grommet and body put some hot glue or silicone in the tube, this will prevent the wires from moving at all. Then just put your ground wire back in place and push the grommet back in.

Is it the black alum or stainless steel model shatner?

I'll check out the cord on my v2 pt when it arrives, if it's not fixed some black electrical tape might do the trick to keep the twisting down to a minimum. Should be getting here tomorrow. Better be careful with it...

It's the stainless model. When you check your cord don't twist it too much. Or you'll be in our little boat that's becoming overcrowded.

I think that's part of the problem, also, but something that really does make this PT stand above the rest: the cord thickness.

The pin idea sounds like a great solution. Let's just hope it makes it's way to V2. Come to think of it, why isn't the pin there in V2 in the first place?

I gave the boot a slight tug after it stopped working to see if I could fix it myself. I couldn't get the boot off. Although, I didn't use much, if any force to pull it off. I was unsuccesful.

Sooo...

It may be me adjusting to 5v, but I've already popped 3 attys (old ones, cleaned, vaped at 3.7 for about 3-4 months each).

Is this normal? I never vaped past the semi-dry taste that tells me to stop. They never actually popped when I was pulling on them, just dead when I picked them back up again later. I'd even put a drop or two in them after vaping just to keep them wet.

Being old attys I suppose they were weaker than the new ones but I didn't expect them to die outright...

Some take a little more force then others to get out, it's just pushed in there not glued.

5V or any HV vaping there is a learning curve to it. with 510's you need 3 to 4 drops at a time in the atty to keep it wet enough, to keep them from burning up.

I popped an atty the second day using it. It just went cold. I'd attribute it to old atties.

I didn't want to pull too hard and break something, therefore voiding the warranty.
