if quartz is supposed to be better, I wonder what ruby laser rods would do???
I am wondering if simple glass stir sticks (for like chemistry and stuff) would work just as well
I thought quartz was totally non porous---more to follow I guess![]()
Look at the pictures. This isn't just one piece of quartz, it's half a dozen of them. The liquid is wicked up the gaps between them.

Lots of great thoughts here! I have to play devils advocate on one point. I can see the raw crystal "feeding" the juice better since it is not a smooth surface, but the uniform tubes would provide a much better surface area. Hmmmm....
As for the stirring rod, I saw those, but being just one solid piece, I dont see it "feeding" the juice, I can imagine it just running off of it.
As for the fad comment, who knows? Could be a fad, could just be a great thing waiting. You are right though, further evaluation is needed, hence the reason I created this thread.
Has anyone been able to locate the micro tubes yet?
Several 1" and 2" samples on the way!!!!!![]()
This sounds very interesting! Patiently awaiting your experience.
