Provari vs other mods is like Microsoft Windows, versus Apple Mac OS, versus Linux.
So Windows is the low end mod du jour, with ever changing functionality and interface. It usually works, but when it doesn't, good luck getting help from anyone who knows what's actually happening beneath the surface. But that's easier than getting help from the manufacturer.
OSX is the Provari. It does everything it needs to, with extremely robust underpinnings (similar to Linux, being BSD,) and a UI that makes things as simple and consistent as possible for the user. It doesn't change a whole lot over time, pushing a single feature or two with each new release, and occasionally a new color scheme when things get stale.
Linux is the... uhm... ok, I have to say, I really want to be able to SSH into my mod right about now. I guess Linux would be a mechanical, eh? I almost said hybrid, but hybrids don't have enough versatility. A mechanical, though, you can use with just about anything right out of the box. But if you throw an RBA on there, and master wicking and coiling, you can really make them shine, and do anything you could possibly want. You just have to know how.
I'm thinking the Evic is Chrome OS, the quirky newcomer that wants to reinvent how we do things, but doesn't really get anything right.
