I could really use some help here. I've been vaping for 7 years and lately I'm burning through .5 ohm kanger coils for my nano in 1 to 2 days. Went down to the local brick and mortar shop and they said try a smok stick v8 with the baby tank --.25 ohm coil. Coil lasted one day!!!
Is there a setup I can purchase that won't do this? I've read about the temp controlled devices being better options for chain vapers. What about the smok alien tc?

Background:
1) Yes, I prime the coil, let sit for 10 min, and pull the liquid through a few times prior to firing the mod up.
2) No, the coils aren't bad. My husband uses them too and has no issues, but doesn't vape as much as I do.
3) Yes, my eliquid is sweet
4) No, VG isn't too high
5) I'm waiting 40 sec between pulls (which is super tough by the way) and the coils are still burning in a day.

I have the same problem and the only way I have found to keep cost down myself is to rebuild. I like my sweet juices. I use the Toptank mini that comes with a RBA that is super easy to build on. I still use the SSOCC coils too, but have more options now that I rebuild.

I knew someone would say that scary word!! Rebuildable. That means I'm actually going to have to do some tinkering--omg!! Is that the only option? Where do I go from here?
Its easy enough a girl can do it. Lol

For me it's the only option.
It also opens up so many options rather than 20 reiterations of the same Smok tank.

Once you start building, you'll quickly find a steadfast build. It's really not difficult to wrap a wire and build to the airflow and space of an individual atomizer. For RTAs, the art is in the wicking.

I'm personally not that much into rebuilding, then again i don't chain vape that often, but when i do i use the rba section that comes with the big baby tank(mostly because it came with it) yes it gets hot but i leave it a min or two when it gets too much. Their factory coils though are imo not worth it.

One bit of information I am not seeing here is. What wattage are you vaping at? Maybe turning it down a tad may help. Also for the Baby Beast tank, I prefer the the Q2 Core coil. It is a .4 ohm coil so it might last longer based on the way you vape. I chain vape with the Baby Beast, sometimes pulling every 15 seconds. I use the Q2 Core coil vaping at about 40-45 watts. I can get about a week or about 60 ml before the coil goes bad. But that is also subject to the sweetness of the juice.

I use my Baby beast tanks when I go out where I am not chain vaping. At home, I use the Big Baby with the RBA deck, the Serpent SMM or my Govad RDA, because those are all rebuildables and I just rewick when they get bad.

The Big Baby with RBA, I have had for about 3 months, and I am still using the prebuilt coils that came preinstalled on it. I just rewick every few days. And Cotton is cheap.

The Serpent SMM, I have had it about 3 weeks or so and I just rewick every week or so.

The Govad, I have had for a 2 days and I rewicked it once, because I wanted to.

Since building and re-wicking may not be an option for everybody, either by choice or physical limitations, a couple suggestions:

Since you have been vaping for quite some time and burning though coils just started, your sweet juice (if new) may be the culprit. Did you try the same juice in your new Stick V8? Try a bottle of something you have used in the past or get something new that is not so sweet and see if your coils last longer. If your coils start lasting longer (or long enough for you), you will have to decide if that great, sweet juice is worth the added cost. Yeah, I know, that really sucks! If that turns out to be the case and you don't want to give up that juice, consider having one tank set up for just that one flavor and treat yourself for a couple of your "kick back and enjoy" hours each day. In effect stretching out the coil life from one 10 hour day to five 2 hour days. I have one sweet juice I do that with, just the last couple hours of the day. That gives me something to look forward to and keeps that flavor "fresh" so I don't tire of it.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I can't even keep a plant alive ;)
Its not hard to make coils :)
You'll need a few things to get you started.
Tank with rebuildable deck
Roll of 26 gauge A1 kanthal
A coil jig or set of small drill bits. A coil jig will give ya a little more control than a drill bit.
Flush cut snips or a good set of nail clippers.
Ceramic tip tweezers
Here are a couple of pics to show how to use the jig.

If you're really "burning" them, you have too much power. Sure you can crank it up if you only hold the fire button for 1-2 seconds, but for long drags, chain vaping etc. you need to set it much different, almost half the power setting, and/or use TC. Even then, there may be a need to manually regulate it some, if it starts to get burnt towards the end of a hit and you keep doing that it will get more and more burnt.

As to rebuildables, I haven't had much success getting RTAs to work for me. RDAs, yes, rebuilding Protank coils even, but RTAs, no. Although any higher power prebuilt tank I've tried also seems to suffer from the same slight burniness. Yes wicking is an art, or something.

I definitely can't keep a plant alive but I do chain vape sweet liquids. *If* building is something you could see yourself doing it's really not that hard. I watched a bunch of YouTube videos both on building in general and for each tank I've built and then jumped in there and did it. Sure, things were a bit wonky at first, especially figuring out wicking technique, but now I can rebuild and rewick in just a few minutes. Just rewicking is even faster. If you want to stick with drop in coils keep experimenting with the coils available for that tank and your settings. It might take some time but you'll find something you like. If you don't, start the process over with a new tank. I have a bunch of tanks in the "whelp, that didn't work out" pile.
