I use the Advanced Search feature, under the Search option, to find all the threads I've posted in by searching for all posts made by my screen name.

I'm a noob, I bought the joye 510. love the cig, hate the menthol juice I got. Doesn't taste like menthol at all. Is that because I got the 0 nicotine? I don't want any nicotine because I actually stopped smoking, but was missing it so much, had to try this. I was reading about mixing juices. Can I buy VG in a health food store, and mix with ejuice flavors? I need some ideas, Thanks
Use the search feature to search for the words "menthol crystals".
I think it is something you might want to consider.

I registered just to reply to this post (the first one in the thread) and no, I don't know much about forums (specifically, relevant to one reply, I do not know what stickys are).
Somehow I ended up here after seeing Green Smokes in the mall. The forum is fantastic. I first found the forum on Sunday, I think, and by Tuesday I had a Joye 510 starter kit in the mail from Vapor King. I love them, but now am somewhat anxious about when/what I'll need in the future. I bought 555 juice and am filling a blank unmodified cart and have tried the apple and coffee that came with. All seems to work well, as long as I don't hit the "cough spot" at the back of my throat. I have only smoked about 3/4 pack of analogs in the past 2 days (Marl UL). This is very, very good.
My only complaint--besides the new anxiety about not being able to run up to a quickie mart when I run out of supplies or something fails--is that I am not experiencing anything great in regards to flavor. I think I got rid of the primer smell, but flavor is nothing great so far. Could be my taste buds or that I just need to keep searching. Anyhow, the forum was awesome and made me feel "not alone" in this thing.

I can tell you that I wish that when I was a noobie I would have found this forum first. But, I bought first (SE overpaid) and then found this site. I must admit that if not for this site I would have probably given up and gone back to the analogs. I tell people who inquire about vaping that it may or may not be for you. There is a learning curve with this habit, addiction, hobby, whatever you choose to call it.
I was a menthol smoker for over thirty years, I have tried many flavors and always end up back to the menthol. The problem with many of the flavors are based on individual tastes IMHO. I've tried menthol flavors from China, and every US seller I have found. Some good, some I had to disguard totally. Some give me a peppery taste I don't like, some have no throat hit. I guess the bottom line is, if you try enough brands, you may/should find one that does the trick for you. If you want a lot of Vaper use VG, if you want less it's PG for me it was that simple. I could not taste a big difference.

Bottom line is, I have traded a bad analog addiction into a great vaping hobby/addiction.
You may find (like I did) You will vape far more than you smoked analogs. Whether it is because we are not getting, obsorbing, whatever as much nicotine matters not to me. The jury is still out on that topic as you can read here all the time. The point I am making is IMO again, Nicotine is not what was keeping me on analogs. I am totally convinced there is something else or a variety of ingredients put in the analogs that make them so addictive.
I will continue to surf this forum for hours on end for the plethora on knowledge that is here. There are some really smart people here to help, there are some really technical people here to help, and then there are those like me whose choose to inhale all of it.

Good luck all new comers, read, read, read, and them make a intelligent decision for yourself.

I am a big believer in forums and know that there is a forum for just about any thing out there and always research first. I even have done that for the last 2 vehicles I have purchased. So anyway I found this forum and after doing some reading I decided on going with a 510 as that seemed to be the most popular and then after more reading I ordered my from Cignot (the $35 kit) and decided to give that a shot before delving any further.

I got the kit rather quickly from them and after charging the first battery I was able to go 10 hours without a cig (I was a 2 pack a day Marl. red 100s) and was very impressed.

This is a great forum with nice folks and a wealth of info. I have recommended many to come here and read up before making their mind up.

I came to this forum via links when looking online for analogs to order. I kept seeing "buy e-cigs here" and thinking "WTH are e-cigs?" Literally, for 3 days straight I lurked in the forums gathering as much information as possible.

I then ordered from HealthCabin (in China) the following: 2 DSE901 starter kits, a passthrough, some carts, and juice. All total with shipping was $99 plus change. But check this out - I would of spent $127 plus change just ordering some cheapie analogs from overseas. Cool, cool, cool. (Not to mention $18.16 for 3 packs for 3 days.)

My order was shipped today and should take about 10 days to get. I figure I've been smoking analogs for over 30 years another 10 more days isn't going to kill me. It might my check book though! :D

When I get my e-cigs and start vapping, I'll post how it goes. (Loving the new language too!)

Well, I'm not actually a noob yet, sort of a pre-noob still on analogs.
Been lurking and reading everything I can on here for 3 days straight trying to narrow down my options and what hopefully will work best for me.
I'm sort of leaning toward the 510 or the KR808D because of the somewhat compact size but I'm still waffling yet on whether they'd actually meet my needs, expecially while at work.
I'm an ironworker, so I'm often working outside in all sorts of weather often quite high up on the steel either bolting I-beams together or welding, so trying to find something that will closely fit my pack a day habit or at least the equivalent to about half a pack in an 8-10 hour day without having to swap out parts or recharge or top off liquids in a cartridge...just not sure that there is anything out there that fits all my needs.
Just hate to think that the analogs might be the easiest and most convinient option.

I vaped through the primer on my first one and lost taste for two days. Once off cigarettes, my tastebuds woke up after 3 - 4 weeks. Some of the juices I liked before weren't the same as after (although some were - RY4 and cappuccino).

We're I to do it over again this is what I'd do... (from an earlier post):

In the Modders section is a homemade version that you actually attach a drip bottle. This probably last hours and is probably the one for you.

I had no idea e-cigs existed until I attended the Texas State Fair this year. A vendor was doing demos and selling in one of the exhibit buildings. He let me try one and I was pretty impressed.

Startup costs from this vendor (I honestly don't recall the name) were high, and I decided to do more research before taking the plunge. A quick round with Google and I ended up here for the next week, reading, reading and reading!

Soon I had my M401 starter kit and extra batts and atty's from AbsolutelyEcigs, along with some e-liquid from LiteCigusa.

After smoking a pack and a half a day for 35 years, I had one final analog on the morning of the 3rd day following the receipt of my kit. I have now been smoke free for 16 days.

I couldn't be happier or more grateful to this forum and all the wonderful people willing to share their knowledge. You have saved my life.

Well, 6 days ago (Saturday) I looked into what e-cigarettes were, I'd heard of them in passing but always forgot to look more into it. I found this forum shopping around (I generally look for wikis and forums on things I don't know much about) and read as much as I could without getting overwhelmed. I really, really liked the look of the 801 and the advantages it had, so I bought an 801 starter kit, empty carts, and a couple of bottles of e-liquid.

I got them in on Thursday, and after some serious taste issues with the primer, I just sat there, vaping and vaping. My only screw up was buying too high a nic strength, as I've been nicced up so bad ever since! (Was a half-pack a day smoker, lights, and bought 16 mg strength. I think 11 will be just right.)

I just love the thing, and it's such a hit with my friends too, they tried it and some of them already want one. I had 3 cigs today with my friends, but only cause my juice ran out and I forgot to bring the bottle. In any other circumstance, I can't see myself smoking analogs again -- they really are icky. I was only holding at half a pack a day because (a) cigs are expensive and (b) I hated the taste, the sensory impacts, the social stigma and how much it bothered my nose. This is such an improvement on all counts! Love it!

If you like the feel of smoking a cigarette with a decent-sized cigarette holder, and you want a pretty reliable vape, get an 801. Get manual batts if your lungs are pretty weak, as you've got to vape pretty hard to get it started sometimes. It's not too heavy, but you won't feel like you're going to lose it (I don't know that I could just carry around a 510.) It's stylish and you can feel a bit Hunter S. Thompson vaping this. ;)

Welcome! I've worked all my life outside as a longshoreman and you need something that will produce some vapor. The Janty Stick does that for me until I got the 'bartleby' which is a 510 based 'mod'. The battery is good for a day and clouds of vapor. It has an on/off switch so when carrying it, if you press the manual button it doesn't come on. One bit of a downside is that the case is plastic but so is the Janty Stick. The only thing you'd need is a small bottle of juice or 2 or three extra cartridges that you prefill to swap out.

See this post.... it lays out the mod that might work for you and what you'll need:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...here-we-go-again-same-old-s-2.html#post703961

You might want one of the metal mods but you'll have to do more research on that and you'll still need atomizers and carts and the 510 is a good base for whatever you might get.

Thanks for the thought's but I'm actually not looking for a heavily modded device (no boxes or anything).. I'm just hoping that theres one out there that is close in size and shape to a regular analog that fits my needs..

Well I am another that read and searched before joining. It's a great site.

As far as noobs asking the same questions, this is a good thing on a forum like this. This forum is so large if the info wasn't near the top most people wouldn't know how to find what they need to know. If you don't know the lingo you are lost.

On a side note, has anyone noticed how few trolls and how cordial this site is? This is an anomaly on the Internet. In 25+ years of surfing and reading forums this is one of the better attitude sites out there.
It's also one of the better moderated sites. Kudos to the moderators.

I too read up on e-cig's for a good 3 weeks then I bought one of the disposables(which was horrible). It almost steared me away from e-cigs, but I decided to look at Leafords review of it. In which he too said it was horrible, and tasted like cat piss. So then I decided to buy a 901 kit, with a passthrough. Getting the primer out sucked, but after that my 901 started vaping like a king. It's been a month, and I have dropped from 25-35 analog's a day to 2-3 a day.

I had alot of questions at first, but all I had to do was search and all of them had pretty much been answered in other threads.

In June I purchased a des901 from the 1st ecig supplier I saw after I googled "electronic cigarettes" with the intent to finally quit analogs after smoking for 35 years. It arrived with no instructions. I had no idea how to use it, and while tryin to figure it out, the juice in a cart somehow splashed into my eye. I immediately emailed the guy I bought it from who immediately called me and assured me I wouldnt go blind. It burned like holy hell and my eye was swollen and red. He also walked me step by step thru how to smoke my 901. At first I just did not take to it. I tried it that one day and put it up.

4 months later I decided to really quit analogs. I ordered more supplies from my original supplier, not knowing there was some alleged "ban" of ecigs going on here in the US. This guy moved his biz to the UK because of it. I started researching ecigs, found this forum, joined immediately and have been off analogs completely ever since. I like the 901 which I mainly vape through a PT using a wall adapter and also in my car I use the PT. So far I have invested around $200 into this but now I know what I personally need to stop analogs for life.

This forum has been a blessing. I have learned more than I ever thought possible about ecigs. I have met some incredibly kind and dedicated suppliers. And the support from other members here is just wonderful. My experience has not been perfect, I know I have had a few bad supplier encounters, so lost around $40, but in the big picture now that I am set up, it wont cost more than $30 a month.

I already am on 0mg juice. I hope someday to quit the ecigs too. If I dont, at least theres no nicotine in my body, or tar and 4000 chemicals. It takes some time and yes money to find the best way to vape for every individual but analogs are so expensive and totally quitting is so hard that ecigs are the perfect solution IMHO.
