I had no idea e-cigs existed until I attended the Texas State Fair this year. A vendor was doing demos and selling in one of the exhibit buildings. He let me try one and I was pretty impressed.

Startup costs from this vendor (I honestly don't recall the name) were high, and I decided to do more research before taking the plunge.

Good move! ;-)

A quick round with Google and I ended up here for the next week, reading, reading and reading!

Soon I had my M401 starter kit and extra batts and atty's from AbsolutelyEcigs, along with some e-liquid from LiteCigusa.

After smoking a pack and a half a day for 35 years, I had one final analog on the morning of the 3rd day following the receipt of my kit. I have now been smoke free for 16 days.

I couldn't be happier or more grateful to this forum and all the wonderful people willing to share their knowledge. You have saved my life.

I felt the same way (last sentence). Thanks for replying.

Started out with a m401 that I bought from a local cigarette shop. I couldn't wait so I paid $60 for 1 e-cig, usb charger and five carts. Not very happy with it. Very light vapor and you really have to work at getting a good hit. One week later I ordered a 901 from vapor country. Great e-cig. Works perfectly, except for the cold vapor (sometimes luke warm). Have had no problems with attys still on the first one (1 mth so far) using three to four bats a day. I really love to vape. But now I have an order from cignot for a 510. Oh no!!! I think I'm getting sucked into the vaping world. I'm happy to be tobacco free. It just keeps getting better and better. May consider getting a prodigy or other mod soon.

Well, that battery has to go somewhere. That's what's keeping me away from any mod so far. I need concealment. My joye 510 in one pocket and the pcc in the other seems to work for me. So far. I'm still getting the hang of these things.
Exactly, with analogs, the pack goes into my hardhat to keep from getting crushed, could put the actual 510 in my pen pocket on my welding jacket sleeve if need be (standard pocket gets bumped around too much i'd be afraid of it getting broken)....
Like I said I'm just concerned that i'd have to take time out to top off cartridges or switch them out or switch out batteries too often in precarious situations (ie. when balanced up on an I-beam fairly high in the air)
So, I think I might get the best milage out of still going with the 510 and reserving myself to an easy cart mod and a smallish batt mod (like the vp2) (still larger than I want to go but if'll give me at least 8 hours of battery I'll deal)

I did my research for a good week and am already vaping. Once I looked at so many ****ing reviews on youtube and all over the web, I decided that I'm switching. I don't care for regular cigarettes anymore, or 'analogs' as you cool cats call em' haha :)

I got a Super E-Cig from Totally Wicked and it's pretty decent. The price was right and it seemed like the product was at least DECENT, so it was worth a shot. I'm still waiting for some nice vapor action but I'm pretty sure it's a matter of getting a nice e-liquid. I've jumped right into dripping and there was no hesitation there. I'm waiting for a shipment from Eliquidplanet.com w/ Jasmine, Green Tea and Menthol flavors- I'm psyched!

The e-cig def takes a little bit of getting use to, the only thing that I hate is that the first e-liquid I bought is super hardcore for me. I smoke a pack a day and jump around w/ all types of cigarettes.. I go from Lights, to Menthols to whatever. Mainly I keep at it w/ the menthols but even 18 MG was too ****ing strong for me w/ the e-liquid. I'm gonna try 11 mg and even 6 and compare which is best. I can smoke all day as long as I get some amount of nicotine in me, I'm fine. For me, it's more so the sensation of smoking and puffing away rather then nicotine craving alone. The 18 mg just stings my throat so bad, it's SO strong for me. Too strong!

Anyway, I'm pretty pleased and happy :) Yeehaw!

Happy smoking!

I saw a segment on e-cigarettes on TV (may have been on Tech Now, not sure) over the summer and I thought it was a pretty cool idea. Filed it away in my mind I guess. I moved the beginning of October and my new situation did not allow for smoking inside. We tried to make one room a smoking room for me, with air purifier and exhaust fan, but it just didn't work- the smell was getting to other parts of the apt. Being a 2+ pack a day smoker, I despaired at the thought of virtually living outside to smoke. Then I remembered the e-cigarette I'd seen on TV...

Started researching on the net and found this forum. Like others, I read, watched videos, checked out some of the vendors. Picked a model to take the plunge with, and I have been pleasantly surprised. I thought nothing on this earth would ever get between me and my smokes.

I started with the idea of being able get my nic fix indoors but still smoking when I was outside, or if I just felt the need for a "real cigarette". Starting the day I got my kit, I went from 40-50 smokes a day to 4-5 a day. I ran out of smokes yesterday and just didn't bother to get more. So I had ONE smoke yesterday, and so far NONE today.

If you knew... tobacco cigs have been there for me for 42 years. My daily companions, ever faithful, there when nothing else was. I considered them as necessary as water and air. If I only had a few bucks and no food or smokes, I'd use it for smokes. This is the first day I have not lit one first thing upon waking.

It's up in the air whether I'll get a pack, just to have around. I have had a panicky feeling since I realized I had run out yesterday. I'm only 2 weeks in to vaping, and I'm not going to berate myself if I need some transition time. After all, it was not my intention to quit, lol. I think the more I get used to the idea of quitting smokes though, the more appealing I'll find it. Especially since I have not had one in well over 24 hours and have not murdered anyone.

So, that was the long way to say thanks to the folks on this forum. If it were not for all the info in its various forms here, who knows if I would have even given this a shot.

On a side note, has anyone noticed how few trolls and how cordial this site is? This is an anomaly on the Internet. In 25+ years of surfing and reading forums this is one of the better attitude sites out there.

It's also one of the better moderated sites. Kudos to the moderators.

I too have been on forums ever since they existed. This site doesn't appear to need much moderation as it seems most on here are self moderating and almost anyone in here will jump in if something gets out of hand.

But with that said, when a true troll comes in, you don't see a lot of conversation to him/her. You simply see "moved on" under their avi...Settles that..lol

This also is the most intelligent crowd of people that I have ever interacted with as a community on the Net.

Maybe that's why I used to enjoy social smoking. Most smokers seem different--intelligent, curious people with a personality and a sense of humor.

That latter statement exemplifies this community, IMHO.

i think you hit on a few key points there... many smokers and especially VAPERs are intelligent and curious people... maybe that's why so many of my friends in the PC Tech field are smokers (plus we need the stress reduction;) )

and this forum has to have some of the most honest and helpful members you could hope to find on the net.

with that said, on to my story...

i first learned of the ecig on a PC TECH website where they often review other gadgets... so after seeing that i bought the cheapest starter kit i ran across, it ended up being a DSE 103 rebranded w/ 20 carts for $69 shipped. then i started watching the youtube videos and learned of ECF haven't looked back. since then i've built 4 different mods and have a hot soldering iron sitting beside me now. (finishing my version of the 5v magnum mod while vaping on a 6v version cautiously)

too bad i didn't find out about these PVs a few years back, but atleast i got clued in before the FDA has a chance to keep me from stockpiling a few hundered attys and a couple of gallons of eliquid.

thanks to everyone, especially the modders and sun!

I'm not really sure where i first heard of, or read about, ecigs. I think it was about one month ago, in a Digg comment. Got a 510 PCC kit from TW after some forum browsing, here and in my country. Very happy with it, stopped smoking the day i got it.

It's actually about equal in cost to smoking 60g of cheap rolling tobacco a week, but i won't get back to tobacco as long as i can order ecigs and liquid for reasonable prices.

Short battery life is a bummer, and dripping often is not fun either, but for me the upsides far outweighs the downsides. Great invention.

It's great to hear that so many people have actually bought an e-cig and are enjoying them. Hopefully more people will do so. If you have still not purchased one, just pick one any one and enjoy!! :)

Oh I plan on it as soon as I can find a decent 501 starter kit pretty cheap (I gotta get 3...one for me, one for the fiance, and one as a chrismas gift)

Awhile ago I read here somewhere about an e-cig that each cartridge came with its own atomizer. Anyone know where to find it?
Thanks in advance, Kay

There are a couple, but the most popular is probably the KR808D-1. There is a badged/branded version called the Vapor King that is carried by a company called Vapor4Life. They are on this forum and have a large following.

....a lot of the noobs seem to have an endless amount of questions, but don't seem to be creating a new post and telling everyone what they think...

I usually try to reply within the same thread, with a relevant, partial quote for reference, so people will know what I'm talking about and who/what I am responding to.

I also disappear for days at a time, because of work, so I hope everyone will give me a week or so before they write me off. :D

Lurked for a week. Week 2 ordered a Green Smoke. Week 3 ordered a 510. Week 4 ordered a Vapor King. Waiting for it to arrive. Hoping this one does the trick.

What do you mean, "does the trick"? You having problems? Do tell, someone may be able to help. I didn't even know what my problem was until I stumbled on the answer!

I got a 510. Want to try a pipe. Tobacco free for a month now.
Heard about e-cigs on a podcast. Found this site, (30 minutes)settled on a 510, contacted E-smokeytreats ordered and picked up the same day, vaping ever since, home, office, car, recommend a PCC and passthrough, batteries? no problem with just a little planning.
E-smokeytreats rocks, nice folks, 10+ service, right in my own backyard!
Might be a record, from "novaper to fullvapor" in less than 18 hours. No tobacco since.
