question regarding finish on Xhaler

Ok i need to ask you Xhaler experts about the aluminum tape around the Xhaler being i have the chrome finish one. Can that be taken off? isnt there some Xhalers that werew sold with no aluminum tape on it? i read somewhere on the forum that someone said you cant take it off cause you will short something out or whatever. I think i read something like that but maybe it was something else. i know nothing about electricity or volts or what have you. I want to give my Xhaler a nice finish with some stuff then put a nice thick clear coat on it. Can this be done?
Thanks for any info you can give me on this. also remember when the Xhaler first came out Drew told us about that guy who could put brass and different brass designs on it? anyone know who he was? Only the old timers would know this one. Thanks again and Happy vaping to all

I think this is the thread you're looking for. As long as you throw some type of covering over it...paint etc.... it should be fine.

Cos, I didn't go back and read that thread but I think that the concern was that if you have something metal like keys touch the body and the switch button at the same time then it would fire the atty.

Yes this correct...you also have to have an atty on it ....This will result in the burning of the atomizer or your spring will collapse...If you clear coat it , it will be fine...
