I saw this recipe on ATF and I have everything to make it. However strawberries I can take or leave so I am thinking I would like to substitute cherries. Can anyone make some cherry recommendations and percents if possible as well. Trying to avoid the dreaded medicinal taste.

I have Black Cherry (The Flavor Apprentice) and Maraschino Cherry (The Flavor Apprentice) neither have that robitussin taste to them  but they are very overpowering

I mentioned using the WF Banana Candy to make shaved ice flavoring. IMO, it's "spot on" to the taste of banana popsicles I loved as a kid and to the Runts candy banana that my Godson loved when he was very young. Maybe that's what you remember seeing on here.
hehehe yep that was it :w00t: and so I got it to try, love me some banana runts

Wow! That is a tough one. Cherry seems to be one of the more elusive (to DIY) flavors. Most get quickly black-balled as cough syrup. I would strongly encourage SFT experiments, of potential candidates, before beginning trials in compound mixes.

For my own wonky palate; I find TFA Cherry Blossom good for adding more of the aromatic notes, without landing with a heavy Robitussin foot (4% is plenty for a dominant note). TFA Black Cherry can give more of a mouth (vs. nasal) presence at 2-3% (w/o going full-on "cough syrup"). Likewise, INW Black Cherry can offer a decent cherry note at 1%.

Personally, I think(?) the secret is going to be a mixed fruit (cherry + ?) medley. I haven't been motivated enough; so I don't have an honest answer for you.

    Somewhere between here and there
This last I order I picked up a few flavors that I hadn’t heard of before but sounded good in reviews. I’ve still got a pipe dream of finding a coffee flavor that I really like. That and a tobacco. Here’s what I got this time.

Anyone have a favorite fruity COPYRIGHTDMCA recipe? I'm trying to think up a recipe with the flavors I have.. such as Fruity flakes FW, watermelon candy tfa, Apple candy tfa, sweet cream cap, super sweet cap and some raspberry and strawberry(can't remember off hand which ones specifically), blue raspberry cotton candy cap. I may have to place an order on BCF for things like milk, marshmallow, or other cereals. I'm trying to avoid that because I'm not mixing this for myself.

After I placed my DIY Flavor Shack order the other day, I sent Dawn a message asking whether I could add Blueberry Muffin to it. Two days later, I got a message from her saying they don't hold on to credit card info (which is good), so she couldn't add it to my order, but she was going to send it along as a gift. Pretty impressive customer service, that. I was pleased and impressed.

Thanks for your comments. I tried to do some reading on cherries last night. It appears there might be a few that do not have the medicinal taste although taste is subjective.

Ever since I started DIY I have been wanting a cherry lime flavor or Sonic Cherry Limeade. I use to buy a commercial juice called Jump N Jive that basically was a cherry lime flavor. Every once in a while I think about buying a bottle however had resisted.

So, I managed to install a coil in the Berserker RDA clone, having watched Vaping with Vic and DJSlb's how-to videos. Made a couple of dumb mistakes, of course. First, I neglected to remove the barrel when I was putting in the coil, which made that job much more difficult (quel surprise!). Then, after being horrified by the harshness of the vape, I realized I hadn't stuck in the air flow insert. Doing that made a big difference. Duh. But, in the end, everything seemed to work. I need to do some fine-tuning--the coil should be positioned a bit better, I think--but, all in all, I'm pleased. Can't say I see myself becoming an avid builder, but this little RDA is definitely going to cut down my dread of testing flavors. Who knows? Maybe I'll even wick it someday.

If you're just making small batches for testing, then a dripper is the way to go. The thing about rebuilding, is you don't necessarily need to recoil a lot. Most of the time, I just pull out the cotton, rinse with water, dry burn the coils until they glow, rinse them off again, and re-wick, re-saturate, then continue to vape on a fresh setup. My main vapes are rebuildable tanks. I re-wick them about once per week but re-coil them about once every 3-4 months. Wehn I have some testing, I have a small derringer dripper I use. When I'm done with testing, I rinse everything out with water, take out the cotton, dry clean it, and then shelve the cleaned coils. I've had the same coils in the derringer for over a year (it's only used for testing and occasional use)

Re-coiling and re-wicking really doesn't take long when you get used to it. I can build a coil and wick it faster than I can drive to the vape shop 5 minutes down the street, buy a coil, and return. As a matter of fact, I could've re-coiled and re-wicked my atomizer in the time it took to type this message. :)

@dennism, this would be my suggestion for the recipe.

    Irish Cream Milkshake
    Caramel (Caramello) (FA) 1%
    Irish Cream (FA) 2%
Kentucky Bourbon (TPA) 2 to 2.5%
    Sugar Cookie (CAP) 2%
SugarDaddy (Reg) (Rick's) 1% or your favorite sweetener 1% unless it is CAP Super Sweet which I would take to .5%
Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (TPA) 3-4% (your favorite VBIC would work here if it isn't TFA)

If you like coffee or mocha flavors, 1.5% of Cappuccino or 1.5% of FLV Mocha would be nice in this.

...that actually sounds good. Normally, I do my own flavorings, but this one sounds good. I'll have to try FA ice cream.

My Squid V3 is supposedly FINALLY out for delivery. I have been waiting Long Time for this mod, and it involved ordering THRICE and a young lady who shares my name and ALMOST shares my email address and we have had several (annoyed) conversations (on her end) and I was like, "Dude, do what you gotta do just cancel those orders if you must."

I have a Minikin V3 (the V2 was sold out not on back order as it so happens.) I hope I don't hate the hand feel I am a little miffed. Not enough miffed to run around finding a great deal on the V2 (well, maybe I really wanted that chrome, but IDK.)

I thought I was the only person with Myfirstname and Mylastname but I think MyFirstname has climbed to like #1 in popularity thanks to some Disney thing. I have literally had little girls, like, as me if I can do magic more or less.

When I finally got on board with Myname (I hated it as a kid) I was like, at least it is fairly unique. Like people would aske me if I was from India or something. Now, not so much.

My Colossal is coming, but not quite here. Getting excited about that one.

hehehe my laptop has 1TB hd and I have an external hard drive that is also 1tb, so space isn't a big issue for me :p
I tend to lose notes...rather my kids tend to lose them for me...or spill things or yadda yadda yadda
plus i'm very bad about keeping track while i'm mixing...so now i plan it out ahead on the calculator before i even start mixing, this way if it turns out good i can make it again, if not then I can easily tweak it and write in the note section of what was wrong or what is needed next time and keep a quick and easy progress of what i tried that didn't work so i don't do it again

newer HDs are very fast. they now use SSD drives.. no moving parts, just chips. Think of SSDs like a large version of a flash drive, but using fast memory chips. Funny, I knew they were going to store stuff on memory chips a LONG time ago.... back in the late 80's when I plugged 80 little chips in a huge memory card and turned it into a 2.5 meg ram drive and loaded wing commander on it. Wing commander running on a 2.5 meg memory card was blazingly fast compared to the 40 meg SCSI hard drive. My, how things have changed.
