Okay, I have been single flavor testing champagne and fizzy flavors plus testing my two new mixes. I am dizzy and my taste buds are shot. All for the good of research. :D Flavor notes on Champagne and Fizzy Flavors.

FLAVOUR ART
  • Wine Champagne

I tested this at 5%. This has a really light crisp fruitiness to it. VERY light! There is some sweetness there. Freshly mixed, I don't get wine or fizz. After a week, I do get light fizz but, for me, it is a bit flat with no wine flavor. No top notes at all. Very little flavor. Simply a very light, crisp fruitiness with a very, very light perception of carbonation. It does have texture so would contribute to a thicker mouthfeel. At 2% in a mix, it will give a mild perception of effervescence with no added flavors.
After a bit of a steep, FA Wine Champagne does mimic tonic water. 1.5% in a Gin & Tonic mix will be your tonic.
FLAVOR WEST
  • Pink Champagne

I tested this at 6% and steeped it for a week. It is the sweetest of the champagnes – close to the sweetness in FA Wine Champagne and lacks the sour note of the TFA Champagne. I pick up a light berry note – it tastes like raspberry to me. Some say grape, but I taste raspberry. Of the three, this gives the strongest perception of carbonation. At 2% in a mix, the perception of effervescence comes through. IMO, FW Pink Champagne is the winner if fizzy if the profile you are going for. Oh, and there is texture for thicker mouthfeel.
REAL FLAVORS
  • Soda Base SC

Tested at 2.5% and steeped for a week. The first thing I taste is candy-like sweetness – lots of sweetness. I do get a nice perception of effervescence with this, so that is a plus. The champagnes all seem to dilute grapefruit flavors so this might be the best choice for adding the perception of effervescence to a grapefruit mix. At 2% in a soda or fruit mix, this should give a nice pop of fizzy. A definite texture in this one so would add a thicker mouthfeel to a mix.
TFA
  • Champagne

I tested this at 6% and let it steep for a week. It is a little bit sweet and a touch sour. Flat champagne flavor. No fizz at all. There isn't much flavor at all. No wine, no fizzy champagne sparkle. The only thing I pick up is a very weak sweet/sour white grape. I can't see this adding anything at all to a mix beyond some texture. If you do mix with this, I see it in fruit mixes at a high percentage to get any perception of effervescence and other flavors will probably overpower the slight sourness of this flavor. This would be my last choice for adding fizz to a mix.

vape TRAIN
  • Blood Orange Champagne

Tested at 4% and steeped for a week. The first thing I taste is artificial orange flavor. The blood orange is candy-like and sweet. There is no tart citrus you would get from the actual fruit. The perception of effervescence is right up there with FW Pink Champagne. They got the champagne fizzy sparkle down. Why ruin that fizzy sparkle with that artificial blood orange though? For me, the sweet orange weighs down the fizzy sparkle but it does come through at 4%. I don't think you will be able to mix around the sweet orange so I see this in a Mimosa or other cocktail. It doesn't have the thicker mouthfeel of the other fizzie flavors so this won't give you much texture or mouthfeel. It is boozier than the other champagnes tested but getting around that sweet orange will be a real challenge.
This is great, thank you! I know a bit different than these but I’m curious how FW cream soda compares in your opinion.

You might already know this... I recommend starting with minute amounts when mixing with condensed milk. It’s a great one when used correctly but if not extremely careful, it’ll smoother anything it’s mixed with. Many mixers do a 90% dilution to mix with.
I'm still on the fence with this. Have no good ideas what I'd use it for.

I tested them in my Drop, which I hate really.
I just received mine via vape mail but haven’t had a chance to open yet, much less try. Is there something in particular you dislike about The drop or it’s just not for you, in general?

Cranberry seems strong enough to compete with the juniper berries.
Sounds like a good flavor to mix with. Whose juniper berries are you referring to?

    Cranberry Gin & Tonic
SugarDaddy Sweetener 0.5% (or your favorite sweetener)
    Wine Champagne (FA) 1.5%
This is really, really tart so I recommend you add sweetener. Of course, you can mix without, then add a bit at a time to find your sweet spot.
If I mixed this with pink champagne, in your opinion, would this be enough sweetness or perhaps half of the needed sweetness? I haven’t yet obtained WC but this looks and sounds tasty:p

Question....Does Honeysuckle actually have any taste of honey?
I haven’t done its sft yet but in a simple honeydew mix, I didn’t get any honey notes. It’s steeped over a month now though. I’ll try it again in a few and let you know.

Fran I use it (Condensed milk, if it's the same vendor but I've only encountered it once) at like 1--0.5 percent. If you use it, I'd recommend starting at 0,25% honestly it can be overpowering. I only have liked it with my tea recipe (gonna post today).

But in a chocolate milk recipe (at way too high a percentage probably) it was cloying. It's one of the few mixes I vaped a few ml of and just DUMPED. To be fair, IDK what I was thinking I don't even LIKE chocolate milk. :)

Thank you. I'll probably ditch it again

Question....Does Honeysuckle actually have any taste of honey?
No, I don't like honey. Less than 3% is a light sweetener, 3% or higher it has a soft floral note and it remains lightly sweet. It is a soft flavor and does actually taste similar to honeysuckle nectar from the flower.

VTA cream soda has many fans.
I actually have FW’s. I was just wondering Pam’s opinion to get an idea of how my reviews might compare to hers she did on champagnes and fizzy flavors, as I don’t have but a couple she tested and will probably order 1 or 2 more. I’ll have to check out VTA’s CS though. Thanks!

Honeysuckle jumped back in my cart and the Condensed Milk jumped out.
Honeysuckle sounds enticing. Honeysuckle, honeysuckle, honeysuckle. I just like that word.

    Anyone have mixing plans today?
I plan on mixing for my sister. I need to get that out of the way before I can focus on mine.

I going to try to mix Pam's Cranberry Gin and Tonic. Other than that I have many days of flavor notes, mixing percentages and just general good info to try to organize in some fashion.
I just cleaned up my recipe notes last night. Well, the most recent recipe notes. I'm hoping that helps me decide.

Of course, I have other recipes scattered all over the place. One step at a time.
