I used 9% extract with 1% chocolate if I remember correctly.

The melon recipe I make is 8% extract and 2-1/2% flavoring. Keep in mind the extract does not have much natural flavoring (on purpose). Currently steep a blend of 8% extract with 4-1/2% flavoring (Raspberry).

OK. I might try adding small amounts of cherry/ vanilla to Golden Cavendish, and maybe chocolate to Golden Extra.

I have 7 Chocolate NETs queued up. This is my attempt to find an alternative to my ADV. 1 & 2 revealed that milk chocolate does not seem to work in this recipe. Neither does vanilla bean. Only the double chocolate clear is working. I'm now on to 3 & 4 which is nothing more than an A-B testing the difference between Nicaraguan Viso and Havana Primed when blended with the DCC. To my surprise, the Havana Primed is working better than the Nicaraguan Viso. Wasn't expecting that. I have subsequent attempts ready to go that use some brown sugar and/or malt. There is that final exhale note that I need to pin down. That's a tough nut to crack.

I never even thought about that! My bathroom is icy year round. The thermometer on the little clock on the hub’s side said 63* this morning . I keep my mixing and steeping stuff on my side in the closet.
One spot in my house reaches around 64 in the winter: the bottom tier of a cupboard that backs onto my chest freezer. I'd steep there, but I need to leave the limited space available free for bread rising. Guess I have to resign myself to longer waits. Thank heaven for snvs.

Question for those who are mixing my extracts with flavorings : How much extract are you using, and how much flavoring ?

I mixed all four at 10% and like them all solo. The black cherry was my favorite.

Is that normal for you- not being able to taste strawberry? Have you sft different strawberries at maybe higher Percentage than what the recipe calls for?

You’ve probably done all that. I’m just thinking out loud. I find that at lower percentages I have a difficult time trying to get the strawberry flavor as well. I end up doubling some strawberry %s sometimes even more depending on which strawberry concentrate I’m using. That brings me back to sft’s. I’ve determined which strawberry concentrates are more detectable to me and will often sub those instead of using what the recipe calls for. I try to stay with similar flavor notes as much as possible so as not to change the recipe too much.
To tell the truth, I haven't experimented with much of anything. I started mixing with fine intentions to sft everything, and those that I mixed (back in April) are still sitting mostly untried. Instead, I just mix recipes that tickle my fancy, hope for the best, and doggedly vape through the mostly disappointing results. At least I've discovered that I really like grapefruit in a vape.

Want to see how the raspberry works.

How about when you stub your toe in the dark?

With any luck, my gremlin order should arrive today. Time to stalk the mailman. I’ll bet he’s glad I’m usually at work and can’t stalk alll the time.
Mine got here! No time for it, straight into the closet. But, no more tracking it now :)
