Good morning. I brought Dad home from the hospital yesterday and picked up his meds and got them all squared away. I foresee more appointments with him in my future for follow ups. Which is fine and dandy with me. I’m so glad he made it through this. I need to mix today since I’m out of juice. I may make my Girl Scout thin mint recipe, or I may go with a tried and true. I need to go look at my recipes. I hope today is a day at home and easy at work. So far I have no zoom meetings so that is a step in the right direction. I just want mindless and easy and comfortable with nothing stressful.

Good morning. Yesterday was good and busy at work. I don’t have much for today but hopefully that’ll change. I need to go through and clean out 3-4 rtas of crap recipes I don’t like but it’ll probably have to wait until the weekend.

BTW I’m so glad your Dad is home. Bet he’s happy to be there.

First thing was the TFA was reported to mute flavors, then the Cap is more concentrated.

When I first started DIY, I read and would frequently doublecheck the many hints, tips, recipes, and other useful info. from Bill's Magic Vapors. One main thing I noticed was he always used TFA Sweetener for sweetness in his recipes. He'd use TFA Cotton Candy (ethyl maltol) in a recipe, (not as a sweetener as many think it is), but if/when the harshness of some fruit flavors needed to be "toned down". He warned about it having a tendency to "mute" those flavors though, if too much was used. Sometimes he'd use TFA Sweetener and TFA Cotton Candy...in the same recipe, since they served 2 different purposes.

Personally, I use TFA Sweetener probably 9 times out of 10...when I need a little sweetener. I've never had a problem with it muting flavors. Rarely I'll use Cap Super Sweet or 1 of the versions of Rick's Sugar Daddy sweeteners. I don't care at all for the aftertaste I get from the Cap Super Sweet in eliquids. If I try some eliquid another person made, and it contains it...I can tell it in a heartbeat. But, since I help others learn to DIY, I keep some on hand anyway in case they prefer it.

I'm glad a variety of sweeteners are available though, to better suit everyone's tastes. I don't think most who DIY would be "happy campers" if there weren't several options.

    Morning, randomizers.

A nice cool and wet day here, second summer of the spring seems to be over

So far, I've been just using the flavor concentrates that I bought, but I've never used any sweeteners though. I feel that some of the concentrates I have could do witha bit of a sweeter note. Is there something that you guys could recommend?

There's also erithritol, to me a tasteless sweetener that seems to gunk less than others.

Trip to WalMart and the Dollar Store with dd went well. Most everyone in masks and not many folks in the store. Both stores had plenty of tp and all other paper products but we didn't need any. Didn't look for disinfectant wipes so IDK on those.

Good morning flavorers! Apart from hassling my graduate program I have no idea. Stuff, probably. Still feel a bit cruddy from yesterday. I slept on my arm wrong. The husband was super cranky upon his return to Tucson, really a lot.. Guess it was a long drive. I always answer this question when I am half asleep, still.

I was in Meijer on Friday. They had full shelves of TP and paper towels, they were completely empty last time I looked. All the brands as well. Maybe the supply chain got sorted out.

First time I've been out to the stores in almost 2 months ago before the shortage really hit.

I checked my stash... I actually have FLV sweetness
Cap is probably??? the most used though, or at least it seems like I see it in recipes more often

I'm the designated shopper in my household. Get out a couple of times a week. I've got the routine all sorted out now. I got more diligent over time. Even wipe my credit card down. No matter how careful you are it could go wrong. Just brush against a shelf with your coat and pick something up. It's the old harm reduction deal I guess. I put a Tupperware tub in the car for my vapes. Never touch them until I've used the hand sanitizer.

I went with a one glove technique. Glove on my right hand and I use that for everything I have to touch or pick up. Keep my left hand clean for credit card and car keys. Got some sandwiches delivered Sunday for Mothers Day. Opened them up then washed my hands. Picked the sandwiches up and put them on plates, then put the wrappings in the bin and washed my hands again. I give huge tips to people like the sandwich delivery guy. Paid on-line of course.

It's a strange time we live in. But I think of my parents in the 40's. Spending their nights in a concrete bunker in the back yard never knowing when a bomb would land on their house.
