    Somewhere between here and there
Good morning. I woke this morning and had a text from my credit card company that someone tried to charge$267 overnight. My wife just used it to order something from Walmart a week or so ago. Funny coincidence that someone else had posted that theirs got compromised and was pretty sure it was from a Walmart transaction. This is a real pita. I have a few of my bills paid by that card so will have to update all of them.

    Morning All!

Loud fireworks lasted until 12:30 am, then I went to bed. @FranC, earplugs and earmuffs do not help her I think because she "feels" the noise with her body as a result of MS. It's weird but loud music and bass has the same effect.

Me, I played No Man's Sky all day. I've really gotten into this game and yesterday went over a billion credits! That's OK though, even though I'm a Billionaire I'll still talk to you folks. No need to call me Sir or anything.

    Morning, all.

Hard to say on the CC hacks, they often don't show up for months after being stolen.

Now that we're past the 4th, it might start warming up. But not yet, temps still in the high 60s to mid 70s for the week ahead.

    Stay tuned ;)

It’s so frustrating. That happened to me two or three times since September of last year when I started vape stocking. Before vape purchases, it rarely happened. That’s why I now use my virtual one-time use feature of my cc. I got so tired of changing every single bill to a new number. I use one cc for every single purchase for the 2% cash back.

    Two family parties got cancelled.
We did go to my parents for the fourth and ate bbq. My brother and family came over but my son and I sat in the next room and wore our masks after we ate. I did nicely mention to them that our parents are high risk and we need to wear masks around them. Probably fell on deaf ears. We stopped by the grocery store on our way home and they had a police officer at the door enforcing our county’s mask ordinance.

I got to see some fireworks last night. Across the river there's a golf course and club, they do a really good firework show every year and I can watch it from my deck. In the neighborhood for some reason people are into noise rather than light. Super loud bangs until quite late. And right after midnight the crazies were out firing guns in the air.

Our Mayor just declared a mandatory mask policy for the city starting in a week or so, we do have a lot of anti-maskers here so I don't know how well it will go. Cases are going up again after they started reopening recently. The Governor has done a decent job and he hasn't stopped local authorities from introducing stricter controls. Indiana is in fairly good shape, some neighboring States are a mess though. Without consistent mask usage we might end up having to lock down again at some point. We went out for a meal at an outdoor place a couple of weeks back. In a nearby area with a lot of restaurants they have closed the road to traffic so restaurants can set up outdoor seating. Great during the day but there are a lot of bars too so in the evening it's not a good place to be.

Got a busy week coming up. We have a new stove arriving. And the cedar siding on the south wall of the house is falling apart. I replaced most of the cedar a couple of years ago but I'm getting lazy so I'm having the pros come in and replace that wall with cement siding. Now the wife wants the house repainting a new color. Looks like I'll have a busy summer.

I got caught up with mixing. Now I have backup bottles of most of my juices. If I keep it up that means each one will be able to steep for a month or two before I use it.

I don't understand why folks don't use Paypal for Walmart online.

I hate that it's such a pain. Then you also have to wait for the new card, etc. This has happened to me, not all the time but more frequently than some folks, I'm sure. I will eventually have to look into this rotating credit card number thing. You would think banks would WANT you to use it.

It's harder but you can also hack paypal I believe?

In any case Walmart online is a known vector of credit card fraud. Not sure if it's the employees doing it or something to do with the company itself but my husband said such dire things about it, I did not dare try it. Plus, things missing that they charged you for, online limits, etc. I just went to the dang store.

    Happy 4th every one!

Sorry that happened Hittman but at least they caught it quick. You really wouldnt think of wally world as a place you would get hacked.

Besides bill pay, I’ve only used it recently for tires for my daughters car, college books, and the purchase my wife made. I use PayPal at bcf and as many places as I can.

I use paypal as much as possible but my wife doesn't do much online purchasing. I had to keep reminding her to use the credit card instead of the debit card. I would rather deal with the credit card being hit than the debit card. She wouldn't have the patience for a random number generator since she hardly ever makes online purchases.

I've never had a problem with Paypal or ordering from Walmart online.

I use my cc 100% of the time for all purchases for the 2% cash back. I’ve collected a lot of money from doing nothing but using my card. I’m obsessed with my cash back. I do not play the cc game like some where this quarter you get 5% cash back on gas and 4% on groceries, etc, and where people use different cards on certain purchases on certain months. I like my straight 2% cash back so I don’t have to think about it. It’s like a continuous 2% sale on everything.

I’m about to go finish pressure washing. My pressure washer handle is getting hard to squeeze so I think it’s time for an updated one with the round surface cleaner attachment so I can clean my driveway. I’ve had this one for about 15 years I think. It’s time.

    Good morning Folks !!!

    Hope everyone is well.

Tested one of my graham cracker experiments earlier. Very smooth and flavorful. It still needs a little more steeping.

Still working on it. Thus far...
FW Graham Cracker 1% (very realistic/strong flavor)
FLV Whipped Cream 0.5% (strong flavor)
    FA Custard Premium 0.5%

When I shop walmart I always us PayPal to pay. Never use my real cc. Their website does not seem to promote security very well.

I would prefer to use a CC for online purchases but I have all mine consolidated (mostly the dang denture implants plus a few other things.) I actually in some ways prefer it but I will never use a CC again unless I can pay it off in one cycle or some INSANE emergency, although meh I guess the implants sort of needed to happen.

But. yes, the CC are more flexible and will work with you. BOA is not too bad but I'm hoping to join the federal credit union when I move. That would be Sweet.

    Anna

My credit score is SUPER crazy high I get offers for cc in the mail all the time. I am of course not supposed to accept them. I do have one store card I use occasionally that I can pay off at the register but in a year or so all should be well.
