A have a question. I get a PM from a contest participant asking me to upvote her post because she really want to win. Apparently the winner of the contest will be decided by how many likes each post gets. What would you do?

The contest is over. I don't think it is surprising nor right for someone to ask you to like a post.

It is my understanding that it was someone from the shinyitis thread asking for votes.

I am in tears. Our beloved Kai just died unexpectedly... and I don't know why. My wife got up this morning and made the coffee and he did his usual looking up at her, and laying back down in front of our bedroom door. I got up and he usually follows me outside and when I looked over at him I saw a pool of urine forming around him. His eyes were open but he didn't respond...

I am heartbroken...

Oh, I'm so sorry your beautiful boy has died, Skeebo. At least there is some small comfort in knowing he went quickly and probably suffered very little.

Thanks you, Katya. I would never have the nerve to ask people to vote for me, how crass is that? May that person enjoy their 'win' and think about it every time she uses it.

I think that's a pretty lousy way to determine the winner of a contest, and I'd upvote everybody.
