It was a combination of things.. mainly a job where I don't have anyone to take over my "shift" or reschedule.. we have to go out on the lake when we can, and it's just 3 of us on the boat. This is the most crucial time of the year where more than half my yearly income is made in a about a month. I probably could have got the day off and drove straight there for 11 hours in the night after work.. get and be there for a few hours, and then turn around and drive back and then be back out on the lake early in the morning.. but my headlights on my car have been on the fritz. It's a little dangerous. I havent been able to schedule an appointment for the nearest dealership, on the other side of the state, due to a non existent schedule. It's impossible to plan anything, especially now. And then tack on covid concerns for me, and especially my wife who is more prone or apt to get covid.. or leaving her without a vehicle for a day. Pretty much everything was working against me, seemingly.
