Good morning folks.

Hopefully everything will calm down after a week or two. At least her and my wife seem to be getting along.

 What do you mean a week or 2 . . . Did she move in, or is she just visiting?

I finally accomplished something sort of mixery... sft on 8 MF flavors... red apple, honeydew, raspberry, morello cherry, pear, orange, peach, and blueberry. I did two drops per 10 ml. Seemed reasonable, we’ll see in a month.
Would be interested in what you think of the raspberry.

She's in between, torn if you will, whether she should continue causing her son grief down in Florida, or if she should bring the storm up here to the Midwest. She was going to move up here but I think she's already missing her ability to cause drama in her son's household.

She really should have her own place. She's retired and has a pension so it's not like she can't afford her own place.

One thing that bothers me just a tad. While she's living with us (free of charge as I think it should be) she's sending $1000 a month down to her son because she doesn't think they can get by without it.

Hopefully he will keep her room available down there.

I’d send her packing in a heartbeat if she abuses that pup again.

I feel for you! So sorry you have to deal with this. No one should be able to harm a animal. Take that broom and swat at her. :)
My FIL tried his games with me on breaking up me and hubs. My hubs ended up moving us to get away from controlling parents. My mom and his father were guilty. We loved them but couldn't get into the "control" factor. Hubs moved us 600 miles away.

We've done the same. When we lived in Clearwater Florida they all had nothing to do with us. Then when we move away (3rd time) they suddenly miss us.

I think it will be alright, she knows from my reaction yesterday not to hit the dog again. It's only a matter of time before her and my wife go at it. Then she'll run back to Florida acting like she was a victim.

My wife was on a conference call earlier and the MIL was in the kitchen talking under her breath about how loud my wife was being. She was actually talking to herself. It's only a matter of time.

I'm just going to sit back and watch.

Not if he's smart and she is still sending him "Gifts" from the pension. I would get her back there ASAP.

I mean, it sounds HORRIBLE but I'm very glad my oldest brother lives near my mom. I was the only kid who actually has *offered* to take care of her in her dotage, but she moved away not too long after that *offer* and I will not offer again.

I did it because like, I do think it's sad that we don't value our elderly more than we do in our culture but some of the baby boomers don't really like, make it easy or behave like grownups. It's difficult.

I know my older brother will have NO issues or guilt in finding her a place to be and frankly, I'm glad I'm not the one who would have to do it.

Send her packing though she sounds like an almighty nightmare. The longer she stays.... the longer she feels comfortable and FRANKLY someone who would do that to *your* pet IN FRONT of your faces? I would never feel comfortable leaving her home alone. That is just plain nasty, which is what I mean when like, I say, some of that generation doesn't make it easy for us.

My mom is nothing like that but she is a very controlling, opinionated person. As I am also, well, I'm probably the last person she'd want changer her diaper.

Also, my little sis, who is her favorite, watched her plan my first wedding then promptly eloped.:lol::lol::lol:.

She has also, bless her heart, been known to say things, "Live within a 200 mile radius of her? Not bloody likely.":thumbs:

I guess absence does make the heart grow fonder... It doesn't seem fair really.

I mean... she's gotten way better OMG when I was a teenager she actually LAY DOWN in front of the car to stop my brother from leaving during an argument.

I was like, that is a risk for you, as an insane person, but that is also a risk for HIM as a child, called well I guess it wouldn't be premediated murder but STILL. She never did that when *I* was a driving teen but man, she might have had the sneaking suspicion I would actually DO it.
