It's kind of a tiff, and my supervisor is a new supervisor and does not know what he is doing.

I was also scheduled to work 2 back to back 9 hr shifts, 8 hours of (I was able to sleep 4 of those hours) and then back for a 9 hour shift. ER coverage.

I had what I thought was an "informal ADA discussion with him about not providing that coverage." He (later) indicated it was NOT such a discussion because I don't believe he understands what ADA protections are.

He also has DV issues in his past (I have an elderly newspaper article! Beating up some chick, check kiting, and like a DUI.) We all have pasts but getting caught back THEN was just a sign of extreme arrogance, frankly. I have a past but no convictions and it's no biggie. He has spoken to me a couple times using the type of tone I would not use on a DOG,

He has done no paperwork, his teachings are not only wrong, I have to unlearn them, and NOTHING in my file is up to date. He has cancelled 3 out of the last 4 meetings. He supervises some "ongoing" employees but like uh, I am his first real "new" supervisee.

He is pretty not smart, and I am pretty smart. I am also ADA protected and Unionized and me and the new SW kinda upset the apple cart and went and joined and they told us of some unkosher practices and whatnot. So the supervisors are PO'd basically.

They have been exposed..

Well it's hard to fire a unionized and ADA protected employee but it is also unpleasant to have a miserable time.

God, the thing that annoys me the most is his IQ. It would be like having to talk with the pet someone dumped on you and you didn't really like, honestly but it could talk. Crazy..

He could be doing any drug, IDK. They don't drug test on hire past a certain pay grade at this VA which to me is a bit nuts because you can be educated, functional and still a drug user.

i assume all things will settle out in the end.

Anna

He will not talk to me that way again.
I hope you get it sorted out.
I bought a face shield (I have two others) for shopping. Work provides face shields and n95s. I bought the latest one so people will stay 6 feet away. It works like a charm too! I have prescription safety glasses to keep the germs at bay. If I didn't wear a mask I would have covid. I strongly believe in them if they are worn correctly and not as chin diapers. I also believe covid particulate/size of virus is less than 0.3 microns. It can still pass though a n-95. Therefore wearing proper PPE is the key but not 100% fool proof. In a active covid unit the PPE that one wears has to be DON'd on/off with the unit.

Thank you, I do as I made knives for 10 years like the one in my avatar.
I almost got into that as a hobby in my teens and 20s. Always loved a good blade. My parents both worked gun and knife shows and I was with them most weekends.

    Somewhere between here and there
If I cannot beat a (failed) football player at chess, well, I should off myself anyway. LOL.

I kid, I kid. I am remaining optimistic but I can't have this dude as my boss. He's got those creepy eyes.

IDK if it's diabetes or steroids or what but like, they are all bulgy and watery and they are red and like, yellowy. They are glassy too. And kind of dead.

I just can't look at them anymore. Oh well, got a day to pray about it and like, so well, um, yeah.. I am sure it will all be fine.

Because I am just not going to talk in supervision. If he asks me questions I will refuse to talk. I will hold up a "yes" or a "No" sign or a "you are making me feel like my first husband did and he was a drug dealer who is dead now. " I may also need a "maybe" sign for if he asks if I was involved.

I'm serious about the not talking that dude is WHACK.

Dudes like that get really weirded out if you... .follow instructions.

    Anna

Maybe he has liver problems if his eyes are yellow. I wonder if he drinks a lot?

    Happy Birthday, @DLKnives.
I am thinking of adding some flavors to my vape so this thread was recommended, Thanks @FranC. I have vaped unflavored for the last couple of years and still had a few flavors in the top of my closet. When I vaped flavors some that I liked was Peach, Mango, creams, vanilla, just to name a few. There seem to be some very simple ones that I can try. I will have to order a few more flavors, though.
FA White Peach is a good peach flavor, especially mixed with others. Last weekend I made a mix of white peach, Juicy Peach Capella, Apricot Capella, and Peach Pie and Cream. It's very good to me.

Good to see you here :) I would suggest you get a couple of base flavors such as TFA Graham Clear, INW Biscuit etc. such things.:)
Sounds good but I don't know what the etc. flavors are. I should just get a beginners order. I wish they had one.

@Uncle I finally bought the 3M face shield at Menards. It's not the same as the one I had at a previous job It's almost except the one I bought is cheaply made. For around 12 bucks for a reusable face shield I suppose it will suffice. The main feature that I bought it for is that I can move the shield upwards in case of fogging.

Thank you - really appreciate the information. . .

Gonna stay with the faceshield I have then . . .

The cake is done. Appearance wise I give it a C-, taste A+. If there is one tip for anyone who makes it, don't grease and flour the pans. Use a baking non stick spray... This cake is so light and fluffy that it gave me fits coming out of the pans.

I buy most of my flavors from BullCityFlavors. For the sake of keeping things simple you could search the site. I realize the amount of flavors out there can be overwhelming. If you can give us an idea of what you want we’ll be glad to make suggestions. While waiting I’ll try to put together some kind of a list.

Good morning mixologists. A fit of coughing awoke me. IDK. I feel okay though. Frankly, I wouldn't mind a bout of COVID but like a chill one. I hear you can get it twice.

In any case, well, not much. (To do.) I have no idea what me and the husband are eating, but I am pretty sure it won't starve.

Do you ever wonder what happens to the "presidentially pardoned" turkey every year? I mean, it's not like you can go to some "farm of presidentially pardoned" turkeys, and even if you COULD how would you know?

I bet you anything the presidential family EATS it with extra gravy and relish today.

Plus, it's such a useless pardon. I'd rather see it used on something useful like on a member of Anonymous currently in jail for using their computer hacking skills to kill Scientology but NO. Also, the president could USE them hackers right now in his court cases regarding votor fraud.

This is how jaded I have become. LOL.

    Morning, mixers.

Since it's a day to sit inside and watch the turkey get brown, of course the rain has stopped.

Well, seat belts and air bags aren't 100% effective, either, but it still makes sense to use and have them. Like vaping vs. smoking, it's about harm reduction.
