Beat me to it... I need guidance on some. I ordered a handful of SSA : raspberry syrup, compote cherry, bakery oranges, shortbread cookies, and apple strudel. I need to tackle those and some new WF ones before I forget I have them. I’m bad about just using my known favs instead of branching out and trying the other 400 flavors lol.
LOL. I'm still working on cutting down to around 200 flavors. I've been good about skipping the last sales. Trying to actually use 5-6-7 hundred flavors is just ridiculous but that is where I would be if I didn't start getting rid of the unused, unwanted and unlike. I'm very sure I can be happy with around 200 with no problem.

My first mix with the Macadamian nut was just nut 4% and biscuit 1%. The nut was good but way too strong. I used the biscuit 1% and nut 2% in my next mix and added Inw Just Berries 1.5. That was a terrible mistake. I think that Just Berries needs to be more like .5%. Sooooo anyway, my 3rd mix should be much better.

    raspberry syrup
I tested that at 3 drops/10ml. It's good. Don't think I would ever go over 0.75% in a mix. It has that tart and sweet raspberry thing happening. Initially the "syrup" in the name scared me but it's not what I would consider a syrupy raspberry (as in sweet) IMO.

    shortbread cookies
Used it at 0.75% in my Orange Crumble Cookie recipe (Zazie's blog). It tastes similar to a Lorna Doone shortbread cookie to me. I think SSA did a really good job with it.

    apple strudel
I used that at 0.5% in my Apple Danish Thingy recipe (Zazie's blog). It's good, totally adds the bakery apple strudel taste. Next time I will likely push it further just to satisfy my curiosity, like 0.75% - 1%.

Raspberry Syrup. Good tasting?. Any syrup taste in the raspberry?/how sweet?
Fran do you mean SSA Raspberry Syrup?

If so, I totally agree with SessionDrummer's flavor review on ELR. I couldn't say it any better than he has and IMO he is spot-on. Here:

Raspberry Syrup (SSA) 1.0% (9-17-20)** -- As sometimes happens, the moment you start a new flavor, you get an impression, that you can't shake throughout the entire test, and it happened again.

First thoughts were INW Raspberry Malina meets MF Wild Raspberry. Let's start out with what this one wasn't. I didn't get a huge "syrup"-ness from this one, BUT, that's about the ONLY bad thing I COULD find with it

At 1% it was nice and full, and probably COULD be run lower, but in no way was it hitting the ceiling @ 1%. Super damned delicious, with about ZERO of the issues that I've had with most other RB's.

It centered around a mid and somewhat dark raspberry, with surprisingly low sweetness (hence the "where's the syrup"). It had a really nice tart-ish finish that really drove an already GREAT raspberry flavor, all the way home. Tasted very natural with zero off-putting notes or characteristics, and almost seemed to have a smidge of seeds in there.

Currently (but not with MF's Wild Rasp) I have to combine multiple players to get a great RB, but this one, can really hold it's own, and leave you wanting more. Second one from SSA that I've tested, and thus far, VERY impressive. If you have tried MF Wild Rasp, and INW Malina, then invision the two of them combined, and that will get you very in the ballpark of this one.

Despite being named a "syrup", the lower than expected sweetness would allow far greater uses of this one, and you could spike the sweet up if needed. I hate to say it so early in the testing here, but this one also, could/should be on your must try list from SSA. Very clean, accurate, and natural tasting Raspberry, that encompassed almost everything you'd want FROM a Raspberry. **10/10**.

The Lone Ranger was my favorite, don't remember Bronco Lane. Going to google it right now.
Me too. That reminds me of a joke: the lone ranger and tonto... oh, actually it's not appropriate for these forms... had to do with a snakebite (maybe someone remembers that)

I really liked SSA Raspberry Syrup. I think I did either 1 or 1.5% with a bit of Fresh Cream. @ShowMeTwice is right, SessionDrummer's review is pretty accurate.
I knew someone would give me an idea. Add a touch of a base and I’m all set. Thank you.

I’m probably teetering around the high 300s on my ELR list. Some (like most of the candy/chocolate/caramel) I pulled to use in the kitchen, but I haven’t updated my list. I’m bad about buying new flavors because they “sound” good, or like last order because I read people raving about a new (to me) line. Definitely could get rid of a bunch though that either I didn’t like, or have another I prefer

You probably just explained why I bought some of those :lol:
I honestly couldn’t figure out why I got apple strudel

I solve the problem by sending my unloved flavors to a friend. You need such a friend.

Your friend might end up with more flavors than you by the time you’re done.

I’m sure she will. The last time I didn’t go through my cases much.By the time I dug out all the blueberries and limes I didn’t have room for much more.

Good evening, all. I finally got my spare Ares - 2 tanks today that I ordered back the first part of December. I built a coil for one of them agave it filled with a Peach that I like. It taste a lot smoother in the Ares than it did in the Kayfun. While I was at it, I went ahead and made a batch of the peach and put it in the steeping cupboard. I hope everyone had a good day.
