My first car was a used one and cost a whole $500. It was a Simca, like the one in the pic, except white. Was basically a 4-speed, shoebox on wheels, but I loved the front trunk, the great gas mileage, and that it was pretty unique then.

I kept it until 1970, when I traded it in for the same $500 I'd spent on it...and ordered a new, yellow, VW Beetle from the factory. Still have the receipt for the Beetle, showing that it cost only $2,376.24 even with every option and upgrade they offered then. Kept it until 1976 when I bought the new Firebird. I loved it, but really wanted another stick shift. So next was a new Toyota Celica GT Liftback with a power sunroof, in 1984. Needed more space though, to haul 50lb bags of horsefeed and at least 1 bale of hay at a time...so I bought a new Bronco II XLT w/5 speed OD in 1988, for only $12,500. Still have it, love it, and have only put slightly more than $4,000 in it for repairs in 33 years. Just turned 189,000 miles last month. It's going to get a custom paint job in the next few months.

Is that the trip where you and the police officer pranked your friends?

My very first car (1976) was a 1969 Plymouth Fury III. Similar to this one.

That car brings back memories. My mom drove a '66 Fury III when I was growing up. It was white with black vinyl interior. Try getting into that during a Texas summer. If you were wearing shorts you could literally burn the back of your legs on the seats.

My first car was a '72 Plymouth Satellite, brown. My second one was a '76 Plymouth Fury, bright blue. My dad was a Chrysler man who worked for a Chrysler dealer until he opened his own auto repair shop.

Good story. I was driving Dad's 1972 Plymouth Duster and didn't close the door good. Spinning a "brodie"(sp?) in a parking lot, the door flew open and hit a metal pole. Tried my best to pull out the dent, did bondo and got some matching spray paint (not a bad job actually) Dad noticed immediately the next morning (he's the one that taught me to do body work) He was ...... but sort of complemented my effort.

We had a Duster too, my sister's car.

Hope you'll share a photo of your Bronco II XLT's new custom paint job with us. I would love to see it. Very cool history from your Simca on. I loved the Beetle's. ;)

my first car was the ULTIMATE muscle car. VW beetle late 1960s vintage. After a couple of years, the floor on the drivers side rusted just a little bit, so I could see the pavement passing by. Not a big deal. Except when it rained. I kept a plastic cup in the car, so I could scoop out the water.

Just received a couple of flavors, one being the Crispy Wafer. I made a note that someone thought it was good at 2.5% sft. It certainly smells nice.
Any more experiences or advice with it?
I thought it was good as a SFT. I've also mixed it up with some vanilla and cream and it turned out pretty good. I plan on mixing it up with some strawberry so I can simulate those delicious strawberry wafer cookies I used to eat as a kid.

    Somewhere between here and there
So, I've heard good things about the Snus, but never seen nor tried it.
It comes in rolls of what exactly? Little packets or what?

A roll is ten cans. Each can has 20-24 portions( packets) inside.

Hope you'll share a photo of your Bronco II XLT's new custom paint job with us. I would love to see it.

I'll post one for you. Have to still decide which of 2 guys I'll choose from to do it. It's still the original 2-tone Medium Regatta Blue Metallic and Silver Metallic, with the Blue below and above the Silver. Still looks good enough that even for the last 10 years...1 or 2 strangers every month or so will ask me if I'm interested in selling it. Has happened at gas stations, stopped at a light on a 4 lane highway, in line at McDonald's and Burger King drive throughs, in the bank parking lot, at the PO, etc. Can't decide if I want it redone in the original colors (since they're both still available) and the same striping (since I have a new OEM stripe kit for it)...or change them up a bit. Since it's an antique now...is it more desirable to have it redone in the original colors and striping, with maybe a higher gloss finish? Or do something a little different...maybe more metallic or no metallic, or different shades? I can't decide. The interior is still in great shape and is the original color. What do you think?

Very cool history from your Simca on. I loved the Beetle's.

I loved my Beetle, too, but once I got the Firebird, my parents said 1 of them had to go. :( I couldn't keep and park both at home, since all 5 of us living there each had a vehicle.

    VW beetle late 1960s vintage.

Was it old enough that it had the little, sort of paddle or mailbox flag shaped things...that flipped out from the door jam...as its turn signals? A high school friend had 1 that old.

Oops! I guess yours wouldn't have had those, since my brother's '67 Beetle didn't.

Y’all all had cool first cars.. mine was an Audi Fox. Looked like this one, but with black interior and a sunroof. It had an unfortunate unrequited love for the mechanic at the German auto dealer. Next up was a 79 monte carlo, which I *thought* was a big ol ugly family car lol. I traded it to our mechanic the day I turned 18 for his Fiat spider. His wife was pregnant with twins.

Those Fiat Spiders were neat cars, IMO. Also, much better for a younger person than a lady who was pregnant with twins.
