I really like strong flavors but for me the lucky shot was super strong and sweet at that percentage. I bought the butter mint but never tried it so I'd be curious to see what you think of it at 5%.

@FranC and @NolaMel - pear is magical used at a low %. It adds juiciness to a dry mix just as well as cactus. I use it at .5% to 1% for that purpose.
Perhaps I can get some use yet out of that 30ml of Pear I bought long ago.

Did you pay for tracking? I couldn't see paying an extra $5 just to get a tracking number. I placed my order on the 23rd and don't expect to see it for at leas another week and a half at the earliest.
Yes I did. It’s $5 worth of peace of mind for me. I ordered the 24th, it finally shipped today.

Got my scale on Sunday, so I now have four 20ml single flavors mixed and steeping (used 30ml bottles for shake room): PUR Sweet tobacco (7%), OSDIYS Lotta Latte (10%), OSDIYS Lucky Shot (10%), and PUR Butter Mint (5%).

Measuring by weight was quick & easy, but I really need to learn patience with that scale though... It takes many seconds for weight to register. I was off by a few hundredths of a gram for almost everything, even though I knew it was slow when I bought it! Having nothing more to do but put away the supplies afterward (no washing) was a breeze!

The percentages I used for each were numbers that seemed to work well for others, so I ran with them. All smell good so far, so I can't wait to see what I end up with. Any experience on any of these flavors and your percentage (SF & mixes)/aging guidelines? I'm already contemplating mixing a couple of these together... For Science (hence the larger SFT size). ;)

I may change one thing going forward though: I read somewhere that 100% VG was better for storing nicotine (due to the viscosity of the VG when it is cold, keeping it fresher, something, something...), so that's what I bought. Due to the viscosity, it is much more difficult to measure out correctly for me. What bases are your 100mg nicotine in and why?
If it’s fluctuating after you tare it, a fan or breeze can make it waver +/- . Just a thought

I’ll give it a shot that way. Ty for the info. I have 4 oz.s (one of the first flavors I ordered when starting), so I best find a use for it. It’s TFA...I like the flavor, it’s just sickly sweet to me

Thanks @ceeceeisme, just in time for mixing... :D

    Finally home :D

This was so surprisingly good to me I just ordered another 30ml bottle of VTA Honeycomb because I know I'll be vaping a lot of this.

    Honeycomb Custard
    INW Custard 2.50%
    VTA Honeycomb 4.00%
    FLV Milk & Honey 1.00%
    INW Vanilla Shisha 0.50%
    CAP Super Sweet 0.50%

Hardly needs any steep time. I was vaping it about a week after I made it and it was awesome. :thumb:

Mine's TFA also. It's an excellent pear flavor but way too sweet

Being off (high or low) by 0.05g (or less) is fairly typical for me. That is only a drop's worth. For the majority of concentrates; it really doesn't make much, if any, noticeable difference.

If I do have any significant pouring errors; I do make a point to make note of it, so I remember to account for it, during any tasting evaluation. If I really botch a pour; I most often will just dump it, and start over. This is one reason why I start my mixing with flavor concentrates, instead of nic, PG, or VG. I am not throwing out any needless ingredients.

If I have an super-strong concentrate (like FLV Rich Cinnamon), where a single drop's difference can make or break a recipe; I will make a dilution of it first, and use that dilution for my concentrate. I simply take 1 part concentrate, and add 9 parts PG, to get a 10% dilution of the original concentrate. (e.g. 1mL of Rich Cinnamon + 9mL of PG = 10mL 10% Rich Cinnamon dilution)

This now allows me, instead of having to add precisely one drop, to have an extra cushion by adding 10 drops. Another way of looking at it; is, it minimizes my "human error" by 90%. The extra PG is just deducted from the extra PG I would usually have to add. And, that is done automatically by the e-liquid calculator. Just remember to move the decimal point, one place to the right, when inputting the percentage into the calculator.:) (0.10% becomes 1.00%, 0.25% becomes 2.50%, etc.)(Also, if sharing a recipe with others, don't forget to readjust the percentage, or make clear you are using a dilution.;))

It is also a great way to add less than a single drop to a recipe. The only way I can think of, if I am being honest.:D
Any experience on any of these flavors and your percentage (SF & mixes)/aging guidelines?
My personal experience with OSDIY one shots, is that they require minimal steeping. Normally three days is adequate. They may develop a bit more over extended time, but in large, they are perfectly vapeable in short order.

I seem to recall reading a post (by @JCinFLA, or @Sugar_and_Spice ???); in that, The owners said they were formulated specifically with this purpose in mind. Then again, that could just be my dementia acting up again.:D
I may change one thing going forward though: I read somewhere that 100% VG was better for storing nicotine (due to the viscosity of the VG when it is cold, keeping it fresher, something, something...), so that's what I bought. I too, bought my apocalypse supply in VG base, for the same reason. And "yes," it is more obnoxious to work with (than a PG base is).:-x Because I have such a large supply; buying more in a PG base, isn't practical. So, I have learned to deal with it.

My solution has been, to decant about 2-3 month's worth, and just leave it at room temperature. That short of a time period, has given me no oxidation problems. And, as it is warmer; it is much easier to accurately dispense.

4 oz. is about what I use in that time period, so I use a 4oz. Boston round bottle, with a twist top cap like this:
    upload_2018-8-28_18-58-50.png

    (I bought mine from OSDIY)

With this, I can easily fill a smaller 30mL unicorn bottle (as needed), and the unicorn gives me all the control I want. I store both bottles in the same closet as my flavor concentrates (not in the fridge).

Note: I do not "thaw" my freezer stash when filling the 4oz, bottle. I don't wish to add water (from condensation; and prefer to keep the temperature as constant as possible. Yes, the consistency is no better than trying to poor cool honey, but I am .... retentive that way.

Instead, I use a funnel, and accept that it is going to take a few minutes, to fill. The trick, is to not over-fill the funnel, and therefore the bottle.

I hope that gives you a few ideas.:D

I stopped counting flavors on my wishlist after 21.

I finally got around to mixing the pur butter mint for a sample. I was thinking someone said it was snv but I’m going to let it sit a day or two.

I stocked my vapocalypse stash with PG based. I tend to mix around 65 PG, and flavoring can only make up so much of that if using VG nic.

And I heard a little voice in my head saying "the antibacterial properties of PG won't let anything grow in it."

INW Pear WAS the best until they reformulated. My favorite now is Molin Berry Shape Up Pear. It is MUCH less sweet than TFA and has good flavor. The TFA should add the juiciness at .5% and the syrupy sweetness shouldn't be a real problem at that percentage.

I may try it sometime. I don't care much for the taste of pear anymore so IDK.

Anyone with plans? I hope to get a 10% dilution done for the tobacco absolute. Not that I'm real excited about it but I've had it quite some time and never used it. So I should at least try it. May be tasty?? Not much else on the agenda yet. Have a couple recipe ideas if I can work them out.

My nic is all PG based also. I use as little VG as possible.

I got my absolute baccy mix done.

Yesterday I filled a small tank with my Strawberry Rhubarb Cheesecake with HA Italian Cream (steeped 6 weeks). It's very tasty and I expect it will get even better. My tank is about empty now and I'm going to fill with my regular version of the same cheesecake without the cream.
