Hello everyone! I'm just beginning to dabble in DIY. I have been reading this thread for a little while but this is my first time posting. I have a couple of questions that maybe you all could help me with.

First, and this is only somewhat diy related, I have a couple of bottles of Nude 100 Lava Flow 12 mg liquid. Last night I was informed by my significant other that vaping it made the house smell like rotting food. Does anyone know of a flavoring I could add to that would complement the Lava Flow flavor and impart a more pleasant smell to the vapor? I didn't think it smelled bad but she was adamant. She also told me once long ago when I was vaping something blueberry flavored that it smelled like mustard. She usually comments positively on the smell when I vape things that have flavors of graham cracker, cocoa, cream, or mint. Any ideas?

On a more diy related note, anyone have a good cool, clear mint recipe they'd recommend? Even better if the vapor is mostly odorless. A year or so ago I caught a bad cold and I thought a mint vape would be pleasant for my sore throat and cough. I bought some store made liquid from a local vape shop they called Extreme Ice. The liquid was clear, had a nice mint flavor, bit of a cooling effect, and was just lightly sweet. I liked it and I noticed my coils and pods lasted forever using it. I'm currently vaping a plain menthol liquid from the now defunct Blue Dot line and I don't find it as enjoyable. I'd love some suggestions!

Hmm, could that be "Naked 100 Lava Flow"? If so, here's what Giant Vapes has to say about it:

"Just two puffs of Naked 100 Lava Flow will take you on an escape to the tropical island you’ve always dreamed of. Fresh strawberries blended with coconut and pineapple intoxicate the senses and ensnare the imagination. Naked 100 E-Liquid is not responsible for any limbo dancing that ensues, or the desire to run your toes through sand.

Primary Flavors: Strawberry, Coconut, Pineapple"

Trying to add a flavor to mask another one is likely not possible, just wind up with a still stinky and worse tasting mix, imo. Maybe just save it for outside? :)

I don't do menthols or mints, but a bunch of others do, and I expect they'll check in later.

Has anyone used this flavor? Is it sweet, sour? Tastes like?

I’m not going to be much help. I do have it and like it. Can not describe taste as I haven’t used it in some time. It’s a bit sweet, not sour.

Oh wow :) i have never had more than 3 flavors going at the same time even though I have more than 3 different flavors available. I need to be more adventurous, 2 are ADV, 1 I rotate, I feel like I get sick of different flavors fast.

That is why I always have 6 flavors in my rotation. For me variety is one of the pluses of vaping.

Yes, that's why I have a dozen. And have never had "vaper's tongue" or any flavor burnout :) Just pick up another mod, vape on.

I did finally learn to do that....too late, but no flavor burnout since.

To those that have tried SSA (sobucky brand). Do you find any weird tones in this brand? The reason I ask..years ago I tried molinberry and inawera and found off tones in most of the flavors. I thought I had tried SSA but the capp coffee is still sitting. I really thought I mixed this one. Any of the SSA creams good? I'm trying to build a list at BCF.

I only have the ice cream (SSA) in my cart (from the brand). I really don't need to make a order since I have flavorings I haven't opened in a year. I do need some FLV and trying to find alternative that are not quite as expensive. I found JF (jungle flavor) yellow cake which is suppose to be good. I'm not into really sweet liquids like desserts but make/buy for the family. Just trying to make it on the "cheap".

YES - There are a couple, the most important one I found that works for me was developed and created by @Bea-FL . . . Matter of fact, it was the the one "True Menthol" I was looking for since I started vaping over 9+ years ago and finally became my ADV and allowed me to become a full-time vapor a little over 2 years ago . . . Here is "@Bea-FL Menthol Recipe":

For 100 mls of juice I use 44 mls PG, 50 mls VG, 2 mls of menthol liquid and 7 mls koolada. The 44 mls is because I use 6mls nic in a PG base so my finished product is 50-50. If your desired base is different (i.e. 30 PG, 70 VG) you would adjust the numbers.

The koolada gives me that cool feeling I expect from menthol and the cool blast in the back of my throat replaces the TH from cigs which is important to me. The menthol taste is pretty mild but a few more drops would intensify it.

There is absolutely no odor, just a -- Great Cooling EFFECTIVE Vapor ! ! ! :D

However, I have modified it just a little to suit "My" NEEDS . . . "Uncle's Menthol Recipe": I use 50/50 Unflavored 24mg NIC and add Koolada for a very cooling effect (There is no Flavor/added NIC), also 1-3 DROPS of Menthol Crystal Liquid for an enhancement . . . SO - I mix a 60 ml bottle at a time 45-50 ml of 50/50 Unflavored 24 mg Nic & 10 - 15 ml of Koolada . . . At times - depending on the MOD I am using I may add a little more Koolada to the Tank/POD I am using at the time for a stronger cooling effect . . . :headbang::headbang::headbang:

YMMV - With these recipes, you may also want to add a "Mint" flavor - that's totally up to you . . . ;)

NOW - Just a warning and a word to the wise, be very very careful of the amount on "Menthal Crystal Liquid" you add - ADD TOO MUCH and "YOU" WILL FIND YOUR LUNGS ON THE FLOOR . . . Just Sayin' . . .

EDIT: @Zazie - Don't know if either of these recipes are in the DIY recipe compilation . . . If other people are interested - maybe they should be ?

A very simple clear mint that I use at work is Inawera Mix Mint at 2.5% and it's clear and pretty much odorless. I have to stealth at work and use it in pod. I also add some WTA liquid but you don't need to. It doesn't add flavor.

I haven’t tasted anything weird in what SSA flavors I’ve tried. I don’t think I have any creams but really like the ice creams mixed together.

I mixed the ice creams at 1.5 and 2% if I remember correctly. I keep thinking I need to go stronger. Maybe it's just me but to me they seem weak at those percentages. My taste buds were off for a little while but think they are back to normal now.

    Mine is 1.25% on both.

On a DIY related note, I'll soon have some pics of my garden project, and oh boy.. I will have some pics of some major landscaping projects to be completed this season.. but garden is priority.. on another DIY related note.. I built a 2nd computer 2 weeks back..
:matrix::matrix: i paid scalper prices for my GPUs , but it was worth the investment.. it's a beast of a computer.

On a 3rd DIY related note, I should be mixing soon, as I'm getting a tad low on juice. Anyone have some recent favorites? I know that I will be checking @Zazie 's blog for the tried and true and any new ones. I have "tons"(relatively speaking) of flavors, so I should be able to mix a variety

I would recommend checking out Zazie’s blog in depth. I can’t even remember my last recipes that went in the blog. Other than that I for one am looking forward to your upcoming pics

I am looking forward to sharing! Some projects I will be working on is building some retaining walls, planting hedges, and making a patio area. We bought, and ill have to put it together, a pergola. We tried to get people to pour concrete for a patio and get people to build a fence, but either they're not interested or too expensive. I'm still waiting over a month on a concrete patio bid.. so it's DIY time. There's many other irons in the fire, but you'll all see.. eventually.

I do have a new tasty mix @Zazie

    Cranberry Oats Pudding
    WF Oats and Cream 3%
    VTA Pudding Base 4%
    WF Cranberry Cocktail 2%

I really can’t taste the cranberry in this but I guess it’s doing it’s job of not letting it be too sweet. It is a tasty little mix.

We had the same problem with getting bids on a roofing project. We finally have a locked in price but most of these contractors don't want to give bids etc. We had one company that wanted us to take photos for them. I told partner "No way". They came out and said they would send us a bid. We are still waiting two months later.

On the gardening note I have my seedlings ready in the cold frames. I have some spring vegies planted. I'm planning on making a strip garden in the front. It will be about 20 feet long and 1-11/2 feet wide. I want to do perennials in it and maybe hide some oregano, thyme and sage in the garden. Most of these people will never know its a herb. I do have some cloned basil I could put in it as well.
