Got woken up early today. Major storm going on. Lightening hit a big old tree in the yard and split it in two, half of it came down. The piece that came down was longer than our house and it landed just a few feet from our bedroom wall. It also hit another tree, can't see how much damage it did because it's still storming out there. It miraculously landed in the middle of a bunch of small flowering trees I planted a few years ago and doesn't seem to have hit any of them.

It's going to be expensive. The tree that was hit will have to come down and maybe the other tree it hit. insurance has a max of $1000 for tree problems and it's going to cost way more than that. Last time that happened I spent weeks cutting it all up myself and burned the wood. I'm getting old and feeble now so this time I'll let the tree guys do the work.

We have a dozen very old big trees around the house. I'm going to have the tree guys do a health check on all of them. It's nice living in the woods but it comes with a downside.

Glad that tree missed your house.

I’m so glad it didn’t cause damage to your home. I really wish I had no trees as they are just a pain with falling limbs, leaves, and damage. One day I want all of mine cut down. I love the privacy, but not the upkeep.

Hope it isn't too extensive and glad you are ok.

I love trees so I will take the risk, I never want to live where there are no trees in my yard ever again.

Other people jump right into trying new flavors in recipes... do several versions, then say "maybe I should have done a SFT of that flavor by itself"

I don't do sfts, yet have never had that thought nor said the above. Many other people don't do them either and still come up with recipes they like. Doing Bill's 100 drop taste test is what "works" for me, when I try a new recipe and/or flavorings. It only takes me minutes to do and leads me to a successful recipe for my particular tastes.

That's 1 of the great things about DIY, IMO. Everyone can reach the same goal, but not have to use to same methods to get there. :)

Single flavor test. You get a new flavor, want to try it solo (by itself) make a small batch (like 10 ml) and get to know that flavor (by itself) before mixing into recipes. I do that with every single new flavor I get (lot's of work but I generally only order 10 flavors at a time) Other people jump right into trying new flavors in recipes... do several versions, then say "maybe I should have done a SFT of that flavor by itself".
Please speak for yourself. 2 flavors mixes work for me. I rarely do an sft.

Not to sound dumb but what is the difference in the 100 drop taste test and sft? Other than method, of course. Aren't they both a single flavor taste test?

The rainbow galaxies was a perfect match for the rainbow (dazzling) pico squeeze 2. I bought them at the same time to go with each other knowing I wasn't going to like the rda that came with the pico.

Yeah, mom's don't even need to look!

Real estate can be profitable. My real estate agent told me some people buy houses like they buy cars like every three years. Not me and my family. I grow roots and it’s hard for me to move. My Mom thinks it’s because we moved every 6 months to a year in the Navy growing up never calling anything home for very long. Once we became adults we bought and stayed put. I think our neighborhood is so popular because they built a new high school less than a mile away from here.

Service brat as well, *RJ*, and I agree with your Mom. Although most of my growing up time Dad was a Coastie, so our moves were closer to every 2 years. No idea what a "childhood friend" is, but we've now been in the same house for about 25 years, and NO desire to move. (Although as time goes by and the work keeping up 2 houses and 2 1/2 acres may require that... :( )

so not sure why....guessing it's because the 30t is 35a whereas the vtc6 is 15a (whatever that means)

That's the "CDR", Continuous Discharge Rate, of the battery. Exceed that at your peril! And yes, quite likely why it didn't perform well, since pushing it past its limit will result in extreme voltage drop.
