You lucky duck, it sounds like a blast of a trip. It's good to get away. I need to do that myself again soon. It's been too long since I went to the little house in the woods.
I remember how refreshed you were the last time you went to your little house in the woods. Get back there Red! Something about being out in the woods with only the sounds of nature totally rejuvenates ones self. For me, I feel a vibe that is hard to describe. And seeing all the stars and constellations at night, goose bumps! We laid out all night a couple times.

Those are some very useful notes. I'll have to try the Cake and Crumble combo. Is your guava pasty mix all finished up, or are you still doing some fine tuning?
Thanks Red. I'm still working on my guava pastry. It's close to where I want it. FWIW I'm using SSA Guava in it.

Just got my new flavors labeled, boxed, and added to the spreadsheet. Since VTA Christmas Pudding is sometimes called Xmas Pudding, I have flavors in all the letters of the alphabet except q. Guess I'll have to add quince to the wishlist.

Anyone have any idea why I bought two ounces of WF Graham Cracker Pie Crust? No? Me, neither.

Yes it is...Really miss N. MI summers...winters not so much :)
I lived in Northern MN most my life and I dont quite miss the winters there. Summer was for like 2 weeks seemingly. I love summers here. Winter here is not too bad, but for my California wife winter is absolutely horrendous here or in MN. Last winter we spent in MN we had some brisk record -35 days, without wind chill. thankfully it's not even remotely close as brutal here. We typically spent our winters in Texas the last 5 or so years, but sold our winter retreat. This last winter was our first here, was pretty mild. I wouldn't mind going somewhere else, I hear the gulf side of Florida is nice.

I piffed my Sugar Cookie long ago. Not sure if I should bring it back. Helpful info on the White Cake/crumble. Keep the tips coming.
I can only speak for myself, but if I thought sugar cookie could be made less sweet I would bring it back to test in a heartbeat. And a 10ml is what? $1.75 or so? Sugar cookie v1 has all the good ingredients too. It just needs help. SSA shortbread cookie does that. I look at it similarly to the way you've used acai and rhubarb.

It’s nice to finally have success. Guess I’ll call this Fran’s Ice Cream Base. @Zazie
    SSA Ice Cream Vanilla 2%
    WF Vanilla Ice Cream 3.5%
    TFA Vanilla Swirl 1.5%
HA French Vanilla Ice Cream 1.5%
That looks good. I have everything except HA French van IC. You've been busy with the IC base, awesome.

Before I left I was still playing with tweaking %'s on the SSA's. They're good....but....I was thinking they needed the help of some vanilla's and also something more creamy.

It looks like you've addressed both.

I'll mix yours up with what I do have and will sub FA Vanilla Ice Cream until I get HA FV IC. That will be a good test for the FA Vanilla Ice Cream as I haven't used it yet. :)

    Somewhere between here and there
    Hi Fran!

I do have something to share. My Croissant base.

    VT Croissant 2%
    WF Croissant 1.5%
    WF Mascarpone Cheese 1%

Note: SSA Mascarpone Cream will work as a sub. Both mascarpone's are good. In this recipe I much prefer the WF.

Steep time = 3 weeks. For me, the mix did not change after three weeks. YMMV. I tested this a few times from a SnV and a few times through 3 weeks. Early on it is not ready for prime time. The croissants and mascarpone absolutely need time to gel. At three weeks it was "ah yes, now we're talking"!

IMO neither croissant works as a true croissant on their own. Each lacks something the other has. The VT has a pretty light buttery note and is more of the outer crust. The WF is all about the insides of a croissant. The %'s can be swapped if one wants more of the croissant inside versus the crust. I've tried it both ways.

Together they make the perfect croissant and balance each other very nicely.

If more than a light butter note is desired add 0.15%-0.25% of either CAP, VT or SSA butter. I tested this with VT Butter Base and also with SSA Butter. Either works well.

The mascarpone cheese brings a nice mild cheesy creaminess to the mix. It could be left out and another cream could be subbed.

The base is good on it's own. I vaped plenty that way.

Besides a croissant this will work well as a base for a pastry or a danish along with any of the lighter fruits (apple, pear, banana, strawberry etc.). If going with a stronger fruit (like darker berries) you may need to increase the % of the croissants or darker fruits may overtake the croissant base. Adding a touch of FA Madagascar or Shisha vanilla brightens it up and adds another nice note. This will also work with a chocolate - however - go lightly so the croissant base still comes through.

That sounds really good. I'm definitely going to mix that base. Thanks for sharing it.

I've heard the winters have been mild up there the last few years.
When we left we had 157" (13') total snowfall for the year.
Florida is a nice place to visit...getting to be too crowded for me now.
I'd move back up there in a heartbeat...but alas, happy wife...happy life...so we stay...:)

I have a cart going at DIY vapor supply and another going at BCF.

It never ends. Oh well, flavoritis is still cheaper than gear Shinyitis.

Before I left I managed to get most of my flavors moved, and very well organized, from many boxes into actual organizers.

I bought some of the Plano 3700 series Deep Prolatch stowaway's. They measure 14"L x 9.13"W x 3.25"H and are perfect for the 10ml bottles and the old shorter 15ml FLV bottles. They were like $6 each. It's model # 2-3730-05 if anyone is interested. I didn't buy enough. Still need to get another one or two for maybe just over a hundred more bottles.

I need to buy a deep tool box for the 2oz, 4oz and 16oz flavor bottles. I did not count how many flavors I have.

And I need to go to one of the local Harbor Freight stores to pick some of the bigger organizers to accommodate both the older and newer taller 30ml bottles.

I think this is the one @hittman, Fran and Red bought a while back. 8 Bin Large Portable Parts Storage Case

Please let me know if that's not the right one. Thank you. :)

I have the shortbread biscuit in ssa but don't have the shortbread cookie in that brand. I have WF and RF I think. I can't place an order for one flavor.
When I sft'ed SSA shortbread cookie I was immediately reminded of a Lorna Doone shortbread cookie. It's good. I have the WF but still need to sft it. Makes me wonder if combining the two would make a better shortbread cookie, need to try that. I have the shortbread biscuit but haven't used it yet. That might be a good match for toning down the CAP sugar cookie too. I need to try that as well.
