For me, when it’s just right in a mix, it’s glorious. When it’s not, it’s nasty. It’s finding that sweet spot. Not much in between
It might not end up being a like but at least I will know. I don't have much invested in finding out. If's it that picky I'll drop it like a hot potato.

Uh, if he's tried otc stuff and found it lacking, at, oh, maybe 50 mg/ml, how is he surviving on 0mg?? What "let him down" about those? Might be important to know what he didn't like, so it's not replicated with real gear?

Depends on how fast you want it and how much you want to spend. Sourcemore has the kit for $40 and carries chargers but probably two weeks for delivery. $53 at element vape.

You could mix him samples of juice in different strengths to find out what he likes then use that as guide to purchase juice. Nothing fancy, perhaps some sft to gauge what he likes.
