Morning, mixers, and happy Saturday :)

Still dry here, temp still good, even a bit below average. There were some moderate rains east of the Cascades, nicely dumping on the fires that side, so we're ok with them getting it and not us. No, not out, but a huge help!

I'm watching the televised memorial services right now and have been watching some of the documentaries about 9/11 this week. My mother had passed a few months prior to the tragedy and I remember thinking at the time I was somewhat glad she didn't know about it.

I was dispatching for a limousine service at the time down in Miami. We mainly dealt with people in the music industry along with other stars and high end client's transportation needs all along the eastern seaboard. I remember coming in that morning around 11am and checking flight tracker, which shows a map of the United States along with every flight that is currently in the air. The entire airspace was practically empty...

A lot of our drivers had to do services extending out of Florida for that week.

A little over two weeks prior I had to release the driver who was supposed to pick up Aaliyah at Opa Locka airport, where she was due for arrival from a video shoot in the Bahamas. He had driven her the entire week prior throughout Miami and when I told him he was released he asked, "why?". He cried when I told him she was just in a fatal plane crash. I really thought that was going to be one of my saddest moments on the job.

Boy, was I tremendously wrong.

Thanks for sharing Skeebo. I've been watching the memorial services too.

I remember that morning just like it was yesterday. I was on my way into work and heard on the radio that a plane crashed in to the WTC. Got to work, went to the auditorium, turned on cable news just as the second plane hit. Shortly after, as others filed into work, an auditorium that seated well over 500 was overflowing as we all watched in horror the events that followed.

I was watching some dumb movie when my mother called to tell me about the first plane. I switched to the news just in time to see the second hit. It was one of the more surreal moments of my life. And finding out that my neighbors had been on the first plane made the whole business seem even more impossible. I mean, this is a tiny, isolated town. Who would have imagined that someone who lived here would have died in that mess?

Doesn't need to be wide bore. I just want a tip that isn't curved like the ones that come with it. Just a straight 510 will be good enough.
I just watched a review and realised that the smaller bore drip tip has a metal base which makes it look tiny. Didnt realise that of course you take that off and can get a perfectly normal 510 dt on.

It's such a versatile tank... Did you get the vehicle fixed? Is that the offender in the background?

Yes, I had a few issues but everything is fixed. My Liberty Jet Edition is holding up pretty well for being about nine years old. This was only the second repair in that time. First one was a water pump about six months ago or so. Other than that it's just been oil changes and tires. It's a company owned vehicle that I got to special order. I have no complaints. We keep our vehicles a long time so I try to take really good care of them.

hmmm...I missed an ECF Anniversary for me a couple of weeks ago.
8/22/2011 I got a PM from Angus (the Forum Manager then) saying that Roly (bigger manager) wanted to bring me on board as staff and how did I feel about that.
Talk about out of the blue !
Obviously, after some back and forth, I accepted.
lol...I was skeered getting a message from Angus...I thought I had done something wrong !
So cripes! I've been staff here for 10 freaking years !

Congrats! I'm glad you do what you do.

I got a message from Retired1 once, I thought he was going to ask me to join the staff. Instead it was a warning for bypassing the foul language parameters...
