I use an Aegis Solo mod for building. It reads coils very accurately.

I use an Aegis Mini. Reasonably heavy with a nice wide base, like a Solo. The Mini would have been my perfect mod except for the low capacity, but that's not a problem for building and dry burning.

Nom Nomz? The only deals I know of are the flavourings they've reduced the prices on in the clearance section. Currently they have 259 on clearance.

I don't know, but a lot of folks seem to like it. But it just doesn't do it for me. I get a lot of butter taste in it.

I think it's because the LB Vanilla Ice Cream is too high% it has a buttery under tone to it to me.

I used to have one of those gadgets like a flat box with a 510 on top that read the resistance. For some reason mine didn't read the resistance consistently. It was a bit more stable than a mod but in the end I figured nothing would be stable enough to stay in place hands free while you fiddle with coils and wicks, unless it was made of a big slab of steel or something. And if you have to hold it then a mod is easier to hold than a little flat plastic box. That was my theory anyway.

You could be right. I like LB IC, but normally have used in much lower amounts.

The butter taste you are getting comes from the LB Vanilla Ice Cream.

LB VIC has Acetyl Propionyl in it. Acetyl Propionyl is an artificial butter flavoring.

I didn't like LB VIC. To me it just didn't taste like ice cream. I gave it to my brother. Lol, I give him all the flavors I don't like.

I used to have a couple of those little flat box 510 ohm readers. Both mysteriously stopped working. Have been using a mod ever since.

I always questioned the accuracy of those dedicated vape ohm readers. The only way to know for certain how accurate one is by taking its ohm reading and then comparing it to a digital multimeter. I'm happy with how my Solo reads coils. I've compared it to a couple of my DNA mods, which are known for their accuracy, and the Solo is spot-on.

Every now and then the Solo will read a coil, say at 0.77 ohms, and one of my DNA mods will see it as 0.75 ohms, give or take. That's close enough for me to call the Solo accurate.

At 2-3% I never tasted butter, but it is sure noticeable at 5%. I look forward to trying Fran's Ice Cream in a week. Hopefully no butter.

I wondered the same thing. Not surprising, percents used on ELR are all over the place. I'll start low, 1% to maybe 2%, and go from there.
