I'm sure, in my younger hippy days, I also lived in a Van every so often . . . However that's not what. @Skeebo inferred in his post - to me it read as you were actually homeless and having a very difficult time financially . . . . And - NOT by choice . . . . So now I know I will not ever believe either of you are in trouble again and might NEED assistance. . . "Little Boys Crying Wolf" . . . Just Sayin ' . . .

Yeah Skeebo was just joking around. Sorry to make you worry. I have another home that doesn't have wheels. It's much larger than the van.

But not near as mobile.

Morning, mixers, and happy Saturday!

It's been a few cold days, but my broken down Volkswagen Van has been warm enough. I have a space heater in the van.

Dos she have a name? ;)

That's what I plug my space heater into. Some people say it's a fire hazard to have one in a van, but I like to live dangerously.

This is way too early for me . . . . GOOD MORNING . . . :D

Just trying to tie-up some loose ends today . .. . Just Sayin ' . . .

.

Hopefully on your vehicle search?

Most beautiful place is western WA. If you can stand daily rain, I think you would love it there.

Aw, come on. We only have rain 300 days a year, but we also see the sun 300 days a year.

And, of course, still hot and dry here... although they are still "cooling" down a tad, almost down to their normal. Which, for this Washingtonian is still way to hot.

About 6 months ago I re-upped Butterscotch Ripple from BCF. When I started mixing with it I could not taste butterscotch and just assumed it was me. I even posted about possibly not being able to taste butterscotch anymore.

During my last mixing session I ran out, so when I was mixing the other day I opened a new bottle of Butterscotch Ripple. Immediately upon trying it I was getting that really nice decadent butterscotch flavor I was originally familiar with.
6 months?

Maybe they oxidize, age out/expire, or are impacted by heat? Particularly after opening.

P.S.
Happy belated Birthday @Opinionated :bday:

Most beautiful place is western WA. If you can stand daily rain, I think you would love it there. I lived near Seattle for over 40 years and will probably return in a couple of years. I am not wild about the traffic though.

If you end up there, be sure to go on a whale watching tour through the San Juans, Seafair on Lake WA and eat at Camp Union Restaurant in Seabeck.

You are absolutely correct and I totally agree. She has a couple of options where we would have to relocate, Portland, Iowa, Pennsylvania, or Seattle. If it wasn't Portland I would probably choose Oregon, but as it stands Seattle is more up my alley. They are also less strict on reptile regulations which would be great for my business. Here in Arkansas it's a bit of a nightmare jumping through regulatory hoops and all, doable but a bit of a headache.

If I didn't love NW Arkansas so much I would be more than happy to reside in Seattle.

With inflation running rampant, the question I would ask, which area has the lowest cost of living?

Well no luck on rebuilding the R tank. It took a third try. I just couldn't get the cotton right. I think I got it this time. This was on my new SS R tank. The black one went together perfectly on the first try. On another note, I got one review posted and am going to work on writing the other one I need to get done.

Indeed. Luckily the company will base her income according to which market we decide to live in. They told her we would be able to stay where we are for 12 months, but would have to move after that time frame.

Probably not Seattle. A house I bought for 117k 10 years ago just sold for over 500k. Not even Seattle, that house there would be over a mil.

That would give lots of time to do your homework but would they give her a definite place?

Jeeeebus!! Are there any "back in the woods" areas close by?
Yeah but if she works in Seattle, the drive would do her in. Bumper to bumper traffic, accidents always. It once took me 3 hours to go 5 miles due to an overturned oil tanker on I-5.

Areas like Roy and Graham are cheaper but way out there. My dd is the one who wants to move back there. I don't cause I know we can't afford it and she makes good money as a data programmer/analyst.

What field is your wife in, if you don't mind me asking?

Depends on where she has to physically report in. As Rose said, if Seattle, yeah, long commute.

Heck, we're adjacent to Graham (a tad further out), and things here are soaring as well. I think a lot of that is due to so many now being able to work from home, so they want to get out to clean air and no crowds.
