@Opinionated . . .

Have you thought about one of those portable radiator heaters . . . Personally - IMHO - Better & safer then a kerosene heaters . . . I've had the portable heaters in the past and they worked great for heating a room . . . They vary in size and cost - and thankfully do not use a lot of electricity . . . You can find them at Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Lowes, and Amazon too . . . Hope this one helpful . . . Just Sayin' . . . :rolleyes:

    And DO keep in mind that any heater that uses flame needs good ventilation. Flame depletes oxygen, and may also have toxic fumes, carbon monoxide...
    I very much agree. For living spaces I would definitely go electric. I don’t know much about them but have heard some of the newer stuff out doesn’t use a ton of electricity like the old ones used to.

    I'm not too picky on inside temperature but do like it somewhere around 70. My wife runs the thermostat in our house and usually keeps it aroun 71-72. There's no way she could stand anything like you folks are talking about in the 50's.

    Ahh... Good to know!

    I'm sorry if I'm being too nosy but could the one that is hard wired be repaired or is it beyond that. I just hate the thought of someone having to be that uncomfortable in their own home.

    I only like the cooler temp for sleeping. Around 70 is good for me inside also.

    Good morning random folks :) Have you any plans today?

    I slept in this morning since I didn't have that spoiled dog to contend with. My plans are to clean house as my daughter is coming in tomorrow. Yay!
