Random DIY mixing and More

I do like Nanaimo with ice cream. Also enjoy it as a single mix. Currently I have some as a single in one of my rta's.

The only flavors I've found to work well with Nanaimo are other chocolates, nuts, creams, vanillas, bakery (cookies + cakes) and ice creams.

I tried a couple different mixes with fruit, didn't care for those and ended up dumping them.

I never mixed it with fruit. Didn't think it would be good at all.

I noticed on one of my older little papers that I liked the Croissant mix with guava so I'll be mixing that again. Was going to do that this morning but my Croissant base was gone poof.

I have a bottle of my OG croissant base steeping. Still like that one.

But I also enjoy my 2nd croissant base minus the mascarpone. It's more of a pastry, with a pleasing creaminess, versus a straight-up croissant. It works well with most other flavors.

WF Croissant 2.5%
VT Croissant 1.5%
SSA Whipped Cream 0.75%
FA Milk 0.5%

I switched the percents around on the second recipe so the flakey insides of the croissant would be more out front.

The OG used 2% VT croissant (buttery + outer crust, out front), 1.5% WF croissant (croissant flaky insides, background) and 1% mascarpone.

Heather’s(gd) hubby is leaving the oil industry after 12 years. He has gotten to hate his job and be missing everything on weekends. He’s going to start his new job Monday at the same place DD’s hubs works. He’ll be taking a pay cut but Heather just got a $2 raise. He’ll also get all the benefits. Four 10 hour days and the option to work Friday for time and a half.

IIRC the last time you did a croissant and guava mix you mentioned that the guava faded. Maybe hold off on adding guava until the croissant is steeped???

FWIW, SSA Guava doesn't need any steeping (IMO). I don't recall if that's the guava you used???

It is. The guava may not need a steep but the Croissant base sure does.
I think this time around I'll mix the SSA Guava at 1% instead of .5%. Also add a second guava to round it out more.

I saw that in the Russia Ukraine Drama thread. Putin, as with some previous Russian leaders, likes to make threats.

He knows if he went that route it would lead to his certain demise. It's brinksmanship designed to bring the West to the negotiating table.

Things aren't going well for him in the Ukraine nor at home.

I finally, after 40 years, can legally obtain and smoke Marijuana. So, what's going to happen? Putin blows up the world a week later. (shakes my head).
