Alrighty then, changed it to a new .03 coil - this time I primed it and am letting it sit a bit.

Just remember it can be a good idea to start them low and work your way up.

I have it back at 30w, and it's great.

For some reason I am tasting burnt coil on the Coolfire and I don't understand why. I sat long enough after filling and the power is at 30 as this coil is 30-40. I don't get it. Edit: I did not prime the coil, just let it sit for at least 5 minutes. Could that be it?

I tried it at 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35w and settled on 30.

I've had that happen. Times I forgot to wet the wick before I put the tank back together and couldn't be bothered to take it apart again, or wait long enough. Seems like how long you have to wait is unpredictable. Maybe something goes on like a fluid lock. I make my own wicks and occasionally there's a solid clump of cotton or rayon that you have to pick apart or throw away. If the cotton was burned like that you have to assume it wasn't wet when you first fired it up. Maybe the juice would have made it all the way in if you had left it longer, maybe it wouldn't. Some things are always going to be a mystery. Glad the next coil worked out for you.

So... found SMOK store had Tsunami RDA.. ordered 2 since it may be the last time I can get them. Order confirmation emails says Tsunami RDA x2... Got order in today and its a Tsunami RDA, and Griffin 25 RTA. On one hand I am kinda upset they sent me an item I didn't want, on the other hand the Griffin might be fun to play around with.

Sent them an email, wife was the one who got the package and thought she would surprise me by installing my RDA on my mod. Which would have been great except something was amiss when i got home and saw a tank on my Mod when I don't do tanks. So even if they want me to send it back its just minus the plastic wrap.
