I had been here at work for about 10 minutes when my boss asked me and a few others to work Saturday to do an inventory count. He needs a solid count for the investors. Of course he's going to pay us really well for it. He has never asked me to work a Saturday in 25 years so I of course said yes.
Got that stuff done and have last coffee in hand. Haven’t thought of mixing as yet. Been watching the builders. They are almost done with the floor joists.
I guess you didn’t have much choice then but glad you’ll be paid well. Hopefully it’s not an all day thing.

Haven’t got to mixing today. Been too busy watching the builders. They are working from ladders so not sure what they’re doing but I haven’t been bored yet.
How does this work? Is the extension a separate new thing that you move into, or is it an addition to your existing quarters? Doesn't matter, just curious. And I hope we get some pics.
We've been thinking about adding a new bathroom and laundry room, but we live in a flood zone so it isn't allowed. This summer our new levee should be approved. Then 3 years for the levee work and 1 to 5 years to get it approved by FEMA so we are out of the flood zone, and we will finally be able to do some building. I built a large deck 15 years ago. Also not allowed but I built a 10ft privacy fence on one side so it wasn't visible from the road. There used to be a crazy woman in town who drove around every day looking for building work and checking for permits. She even reported her own 90 year old brother for an illegal room addition behind his garage. She's gone now though.
It’s an addition to the end of the house. It will extend my room and DD’s office. Her addition will extend her office but she will use the extra space for plants. My addition will include a small bathroom with shower. Also 2 bottom kitchen cabinets and two top. There will be a small sink and room on the counter for my coffeepot and microwave. My computer will be moved into my addition and I’m getting a small frig. There will be a doorway between rooms but no doors. There will be outside doors on both sides with small decks.
They are putting plywood down on the second floor so not much to see. I did get two mixes done. I’d like to work on recipes if I can come up with any ideas.
Late lunch here. Just checking in.
They are putting the last row of plywood across the upstairs floor now. No more sun shining through. I assume they will cover the upstairs floor with a tarp when they’re done.
