    Good morning mixers,

    Picked up a parcel today:

    I have bought 20 pcs 100ml stem bottles for nic storage, and glass measuring cylinders, 10, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000ml.
Actually I felt that the measuring cylinders were cheap, the 1000ml cost around 10$ while the smallest 10ml cost 2$.
    Very nice.

    Morning, mixers.

Yep, more rain, although it may be backing off a little.

Down to town this am, couple routine doc visits. Good timing, I guess, since yard work is still on hold?

    Somewhere between here and there
Made it to work and finally feeling a little better. I had a really bad stomach ache last night. I got the 10ml bottles yesterday that I ordered so that should be plenty to last me for a while. I like how that seller sends funnels and labels with them but the labels are a little small.

You’ll have to write small to use those.

I’m also glad you’re feeling better. Sucks to have a bad tummy ache.

I never used glass, all my cylinders are plastic. Partly because they were cheaper and partly because they wouldn't break if you knock them over. It takes a long time for the thick liquid to pour out of a cylinder, it sticks to the sides. If I need 90mls of base for a mix I just put 92mls in the cylinder and hope it balances out. Using the 10ml for flavorings isn't too bad because it is mostly PG and runs faster. Always wondered if the liquid would pour more easily from glass.

I don't use funnels anymore because of how slowly the liquid ran through them. With the plastic funnels the tip part was tapered, you could cut off most of the tip and they would run a little faster.

It must be hard to mix small testers with such a small %. I have TFA Caramel Cappuccino which is really strong and I had to dilute it to 10% in PG just so I could use it in quantities that I was capable of measuring.

    I don't find it difficult.

With test mixes I always do 10ml batches, 0.15% to 0.3% "roughly" equals 1 drop. That is completely dependent on the weight of any given flavor. Example: a single drop of the majority of cream flavors will weigh more than one drop of a fruit flavor.

    Using my LB-501 scale 0.5% = 0.05g = 2 drops (depends on the flavor).

Most of the Medicine Flower flavors I use require the same 0.15% - 0.5% median range as the VSO raw flavors. A good example is MF Guava, where one drop in 10ml equals full flavor. MF guava is very highly concentrated.

I am still undecided if I'll purchase the VSO Raw flavors or their regular flavors. Probably will buy some of each. It depends how I plan on using each.

It is cheaper with plastic but perhaps easier to keep glass clean, which is why I took glass. But maybe the glass releases the juice better compared to plastic, which needs to be tested when I mix nic shoots.
I think the marking itself is etched into the glass.
The funnels are unlikely to be used, I didn't know how the measuring cylinders were shaped at the top so I took two funnels with me, it seems that it was an unnecessary purchase.
I have found a place in Norway that sells laboratory equipment.
