Howdy random folks. I had some excitement this evening. I had stopped by my placed while I was working to pick up a drink. I had finished the two bottles of water that I got from the po, yet still had a number of stops left. The ac was on and was cooling the place, so it had been fixed. I turned off the ac to save electricity. When I got home from work, I turned on the ac. One of the smoke detectors began to yell, and I couldn't get it to stop. I tried calling the fire department main number, but no one answered, so I called 911. The operator had me wait outside until the fire department arrived...with several trucks, lights, and sirens. The whole time I was waiting, I could hear the detector, but as soon as the fire department arrived, it quit. The guys, like 6-8 of them, plus one cop, we're all here. They checked the ac unit, but it was fine. They (and I), figured the work had gotten dust into the unit and it blew out as soon as I turned it on, setting off the smoke detector closest to the unit. Thank God for the prompt response of our local volunteer fire department, even if it was just for a false alarm.
At least that excitement didn’t involve being broke down.

Goodnight Fran. I still am afraid to run so did the elliptical and walked on the treadmill tonight. This leg pain thing has me feeling old. It has been better since my chiropractor visit but not back to normal yet.

    Good news there.

I had a CO detector go off once at midnight. Called the gas company emergency number and the women who answered said it was probably just an out of date detector and to call back in the morning. I insisted and she reluctantly sent an inspector out, at my expense. Turned out to be a gas leak inside the furnace box. I needed to have most of the ancient gas lines in the house replaced. When they get old if you take out one piece of gas pipe it loosens the next junction, and so on down the line.

Took a week in midwinter and cost a fortune. No heat or hot water or dryer. But what I learned is always take that stuff seriously. I might not have woken up in the morning.

It could be another trip to the chiropractor is needed.

Good morning. I woke up and the light was on in the microwave over the range. I turned on the light to take a look and saw the wife left a note that it was making a noise if you shut the door. There is also an error code on the display indicating that the relay board has failed. Looks like it’s time to get a new one installed.

It’s a good thing you insisted.

    Hopefully it is old.

It’s very old. We probably should have replaced it years ago but it just kept working. It doesn’t match the other appliances.
If something works, why would you replace it? Just because it doesn’t match? You can get a matchy one now.

My smoke detector woes are not over. At about 2:30 this morning, the same smoke detector started going off and is still going strong. I'm wondering if when they were working on the ac, they damaged the wires to the detector. It's only the one nearest the ac unit going off. Another call to the property manager is in the forecast.

That’s pretty aggravating. Especially at 2:30 AM.
