Going to bed last night I went in the bathroom and there was a vigorous stream of water running across the floor. Stepped in it and it was hot. It was coming from behind the shower wall where the shower comes out. It must have just started because in the minute or two it took me to get to the hot water cutoff at the heater the bathroom floor was covered. If it had happened 20 mins later it would have flooded the whole house while I was asleep. I also burned the back of two fingers on the exhaust pipe from the heater when I turned the cutoff lever.

We didn't have hot water this morning until I emptied out the closet behind the shower wall and cut off the hot water at the shower. Don't even have cold shower, for some reason no cold gets through at all. Probably the shower control valve died. The plumber is coming out first thing tomorrow morning. Could have got them out today at some huge premium price but I can live without a shower for a couple of days.

Good part is I had to completely empty a large bathroom closet and dump everything in the kitchen, which caused the wife to go through it all. Probably got rid of half the stuff in there. I might even get a small section of a shelf for my own stuff out of it.

I was going to work on my blueberry mix today, although I always tell myself that when something happens where I couldn't have worked on a recipe. I do have the blueberry part going OK, just need to add some menthol.

That could have been so much worse. Glad it wasen't.

I did. I went and ran my car through the car wash since there was a bridge closed and had to go 4-5 miles on gravel roads. My wife is on her way back with our daughter and her boyfriend. I picked up some stuff at the grocery so I could feed them when they get here.

Well, I usually like lulo but I just don't like this recipe. Moving on to the lacking recipe. Lacking fruit, lacking chocolate, lacking PB and lacking booze.

When I asked Fran if her mix was PB + Chocolate + Booze I was sorta / kinda / maybe hinting at a mix that "might" be pretty decent with some flavors I have never seen used together.

I have another PB recipe in my Zlide but it’s way different than the other plus I have the recipe.

A good while back I did a mix with FLV Chocolate Deutsch 0.5%, WF Fluffy White Cake 2%, FA Amarula 0.5% and FLV Cream 1%. It was not very good, I ended up dumping it.

IMHO, FLV Chocolate Deutsch and FA Amarula, each on their own, can be tricky to mix with. Amarula is a boozy liqueur flavor, and like FLV CD, it's an ultra concentrate.

My takeaway was amarula and chocolate deutsch were just a bad flavor pairing. Each flavor has it's own complex notes. They didn't play nicely together at the percents I used. In hindsight, I should have mixed one of them at fifty percent lower. Over time I learned that amarula is best used between 0.15%~0.25% because it gains strength as it steeps.

I ended up subbing VTA Chocolate Mousse at 1.5% for FLV CD. The mix then came together as a nice chocolate cake with a touch of liqueur.

Sorry, I can't offer any thoughts yet, I still need to do an SFT for mango mousse.

My plan is to try it at 0.5% to start, let it steep for a while, and then go from there.
