Well I’m happy to say that I made the Another Pink Lemonade mix and I’m getting all the flavors. I’m surprised. I’ll let it steep a couple of days. It’s a bit “bright”. I don’t think I like the total flavor content as high as I use to.

The first mix didn’t go well at all. I was using the postal scale I bought and it wasn’t sensitive enough to pick up the mls even though it had mls as a unit. I forgot I had a smaller scale for mixing. Duh. Fortunately I only made 10 mls of it. It’s been tossed lol !

Good afternoon everyone!

I’m going to have to replace some of my concentrates. A bit bummed out but I tried making an almond vanilla mix a few days ago and the almond flavor just isn’t there. I even doubled up on it.

I really shouldn’t be surprised some of the flavors are a few years old. Fortunately I bought larger bottles of my more favorite flavors and stored them in the refrigerator and they seem ok.

I suppose it will depend on the individual flavors and maybe manufacturers as to how to how long they’ll last plus the environment stored in.

Anyone else have any observations with older flavor concentrates regarding flavors or manufacturers?

I used a lot of TFA French Vanilla over the years. It definitely goes off. It starts to taste bad and also changes from light brown to dark brown. At 2 years it was unusable. I had a 4oz bottle so it sat on the shelf for a long time and I didn't even notice it was changing color. I'm sure other flavors degrade but that's the only one I've noticed. Now I get 1oz bottles of almost everything.

I’m taking photos of more gear to post in the classies then I’ll be trying out an old mix that I haven’t made for awhile. It’s def Not original to me but it’s a summer fruity mango kiwi deal. Hopefully those concentrates are still good enough.

We are doing alright here.
I'm testing out my Circe's Warning mix (strawberries & cream).
It's not too bad so far but I think I need to play with the cream blend some. I used a bunch since the liquid that inspired it described the creams as "rich and complex".
The strawberry part is plenty strong even after about three months. (though that might need tweaking as well - it's definitely strawberry but maybe not the "best" strawberry)

I had beef fajitas and the best margarita for my birthday lunch. However I think that the heavy meals, as I had leftovers for supper, slowed me down when I was walking on the treadmill. I went a touch faster than yesterday but only made it a mile.

My dd called me this evening. She and her boyfriend are going with his family on vacation in Red River, NM. They are driving to Dallas tonight and will drive an hour out of their way to see me in the morning for breakfast. That's the best birthday present!
