    Thank you, Fran

I got an early jump on The Laundry since I didn't have any work lined up for today.
While I was tending to that I squeezed in one mix - another slight variation of Faerie Clouds.
So far my v1.0 is holding the top spot.
Hope your mix is a winner.

We may hit 50 today, but still some teens at night in the near future.

SO, my package from sourcemore has been sitting in Chicago for 3 days. Why does it go to Chicago anyway? There is no port there....and I'm in Pa.?? Massively confusing.
I believe it’s where it comes in to from overseas. I have a package sitting there also. It’s the remainder of the missing items from my last order.

If anyone doesn't know, the reason packages go to out of the way places is the truck doesn't stop at local post offices but goes to a main 'hub' where they are then routed to your area. Example, all my packages coming from the west coast will pass right by me in middle TN and go east to Nashville hub, then routes back to me.

    That makes sense.

I've experienced that for sure. But Chicago has some extra wrinkles. I partly figured it out from one of the standalone tracking apps which gives more details. When stuff clears Chicago customs it goes to a specific USPS facility close to the customs center, forget the name of the place. It will often sit in that location for lengthy periods, Chicago customs itself doesn't seem to take longer than other customs locations. Most of the tracking apps don't show that though, packages just show as sitting in customs.

The other wrinkle is that when stuff leaves the USPS facility it often goes to random hubs, anywhere in the country. Once it gets to a regular hub it takes a logical route to the customer.

My package has been "sitting" in Chicago for 3 days. Just got an update...it's in Chicago!

    Morning, mixers.

Claim is light rain later on, and so far they're right. No rain. :) Only scattered clouds, so maybe it is on it's way. Temps to be mid 50s, closer to normal.
