Morning, mixers.

Well, the rain does seem to be backing off, it's no longer a deluge :)

put an overnight bag by the mini freezer with towels in it so I could grab some half liter bottles of nic if I had to bail out quickly. I'm thinking of keeping mods and tanks from the stash in another bag ready to go. Everything else is replaceable.

Yeah, it does take a while for the rivers to get rid of the run-off. Glad it peaked where it did, and you stayed dry! And good plan on the nic, mods and tanks. Now that Chump has levied a 104% tariff on all goods from China... and the issues here with nic...

Hello, mixers, hoping all is well

I had another go at trying to make fused Clapton wire again and think I had success.
I haven't wound coils and tried it yet but it looks pretty good except it's a bit twisty - got some of them worked out but was afraid to mess with it too much.

Pics aren't too great once again but about the best I could do.
Two 30 gauge Nichrome cores, 38 gauge Nichrome wrap.
I should have enough to do two 3mm 6 wrap coils from this try. (hoping anyway)

I did get them made up (had just enough wire) and installed in my ZX RTA. They seem to be working fine and are close to the same resistance as the Wotofo coils that I need to make them as replacements for.
Another not so great pic of my two coils with the last one of the Wotofo coils (on the right) for comparison.

Not the best wrap job by me, even using the coiling tool, but they work.
Legs look wonky but the bent part got cut off - bent each end after making them to be sure they didn't start coming apart. Probably didn't need to do that but saw someone do similar in a vid.
