I got the gate put together but it started raining before I could put on the pickets. I don’t think it’s gonna last long though. Once I get the rest of the pickets on that side then I can figure out how many I need for the other side and return the rest.
It didn’t last long. I got the gate pickets on but it looks kinda funny because the pickets sit lower than the fence pickets. When I return the leftover stuff, I’m going to get some six foot pickets and trim them so they align with the other ones. I called Menards earlier and they still didn’t have my gate that was back ordered for the other side so I had them refund it and drove 40 minutes each way to another Menards that had them in stock.
You are correct. I’m ready to be done now. It’s been four days of exhausting work but will be worth it in the end.
Did the last mowing of the year today. Got up at 7.00 because they were forecasting rain around noon, which never arrived.
I came across a nest of bees or wasps on the lawn. It looked like a mole tunnel. A quite large hole with a horizontal tunnel at the bottom. But as I looked dozens of bees came crawling out from the tunnel and buzzing around. I drove away and they didn't follow me.
Not sure what they were. I've had ground bees before but they tend to be small. These were big. And never seen ground bees with a big hole like this one. I got out after dark and sprayed the hole. Likely didn't get enough in there because the can ran dry. While I was spraying a solid carpet of bees were crawling out from the tunnel but none of them seemed to have taken flight. See how it looks tomorrow.

I doubt I’ll get it done tomorrow. Tomorrow is my first day back to work. I’m sure I’ll be tired.
