My wife’s mother and other brother were already fed up with him and I told my wife to let them know what he said to our daughter. I just can’t understand him thinking that he could sway her with gifts and that she wouldn’t tell us what he said. I’m done with him.
We have one like that. She's been banned from events at our house and other family locations for a couple of years now. Can't visit without a phone call. She told us stuff other family members supposedly said about us and told them stuff we said about them, etc. Alcohol is involved. Stuff like that never goes away, you have to protect yourself.
No alcohol involved with her brother. Just a narcissistic jerk. It’s ridiculous that a 60 year old man acts like he does. He has never once taken any responsibility for the shape he’s in and it finally got to the point where he had been mismanaging his diabetes long enough that he ended up in the hospital and had a toe cut off. Every Christmas for as long as I can remember, he’s been a pain. He would never agree to drawing names for gift exchange because he’s like an 8 year old. He always tried to be the big gift giver but had to nag everyone for gift ideas because when it comes down to it, he really doesn’t know his own family well enough to buy a thoughtful gift. Then after Christmas passed he would call my wife and say how he got this great gift for someone and they only got him this or that. Very childish!
I'm sorry your family has to go through that. Seems like there is one in nearly every family Hitt.
We had two very "toxic" family members. For our own good we completely cut them off. Wasn't easy to do, at all, well yes and no. We tried helping them, as did others, to no avail.
Toxic relatives have to take responsibility for their actions. Ours did not. Sadly, everyone loses in situations like that.
We need to see after our own well being first and foremost. A lesson my Dad taught me, more than once . As much as I want to, or would like to, fix or help others, it isn't my responsibility. It's theirs.
We can lead another Human to Water...... we cannot make them drink. They have to wanna.

That sounds like my day.
So, the bills from my two eye surgeries came in last week. After United Healthcare paid their portion the remaining hospital bill was quite expensive. Like very!
She said I should call the hospital financial advocate department (every hosp. has one). I called them on Monday. Today they called to tell me they are writing off my entire portion.
The hospital system is part of the third-largest in the country. Their revenue was just over $34.8 billion last year.

I had 2 gifts missing by Amazon. I was surprised they were both delivered today. Now my first 2 months of birthdays are done.
The greed in our world is so sickening. When is enough, enough for the rich? Costs rise, continue to rise daily, yet no one in any positions of power cares. They are evil greedy "blank-blanks", all of them.
Solutions exists, oh yes they do!!! But the greedy would make less. So costs rise and rise. It's disgusting.
And believe me, I know dang well there are those who are far worse off all over the world. My heart truly aches for them.

Thats awesome that they did that but I’m truly surprised. Our new company really got us some good benefits this year. We now have a health reimbursement plan where we can turn in up to 6k by of bills for medical and dental expenses.
My oldest daughter texted me this morning right as I was walking downstairs to work out. She went to work and forgot her take her medicine and asked me to bring it to her. I honestly wasn’t in the right mood to workout so skipped it and took her medicine to her. We’re just kinda lounging around today with no real plans. I did try out the Dewalt battery powered air inflator I got for Xmas. I topped off my car tires with it. I already have plenty of batteries so just got the inflator for Xmas. My youngest daughter and her boyfriend got me a medium size Dewalt toolbox type container and an organizer that snaps onto it. I hadn’t seen it before but found out it’s part of Dewalt’s version of the Milwaukee pack out. I think it’s called tough system or something like it.
