Nothing wrong with doing that. I usually don't smell my flavors either, but this one was just so strong that when I took the cap off(I WAS going to mix it) it hit me in the face. LOL

    :)
Must be a strong bad smell.

View attachment 757013 Hi kids! Need some help with this mix. Was supposed to be a Pina Colada. Now it’s been awhile since I’ve had an actual one but I don’t remember it tasting anything like this lol! It’s “good” which in my case means it’s sweet but Pina Colada flavored ? - nope.

This is Dave Bellows' (ID10-T) original recipe. It is delicious but even he agrees my changes are improvements if minor ones. Either is delicious!

    If You Like Piña Coladas
    INW Pineapple 5.5%
    FA Coconut 2.5%
    FA Cream Fresh 2%
    CAP Golden Pineapple 1%
    TFA Pineapple 0.8%
    TFA Coconut 0.5%
    TFA Coconut Candy 0.8%
    FA Jamaican Rum 1% (Optional)
TFA Koolada As you like it
Shake and vape but better with a 3 day steep

    My Piña Coladas
    FA Coconut 2.5%
    FA Cream Fresh 2%
    CAP Golden Pineapple .80%
    VTA Light Rum 1%
FA Jamaican Special (Jamaican Rum) 1%
    FA Lime Tahiti (Distilled) .25%
    INW Pineapple 3%
SugarDaddy Sweetener (or whatever you like) .5% (optional, but this one is slightly less sweet than Dave's without the Coconut Candy)
    VTA Sugarloaf Pineapple 3%
    FLV Sweet Coconut 2%
    WS-23 30% or Koolada (I use .5%)
Shake and vape but better with a 3 day steep

I'm putting off trying the Pink Panther for a bit. Last time I had a sniff it didn't smell super sweet anymore. Have high hopes for it being tart. Have even higher hopes for it being tasty.
ELR reviews say the sb fades into the background, that is probably where the sweet smell is coming from.

So the RF sugar plum is going back in the box, it has either faded or is not steeped; mixed at 3% as a guess due to there being little info about it. If it's still so pale next weekend I'll make another sf at 5% and taste off the shake. I don't like to taste anything off the shake.

Is it the vg version? Or the super concentrate? If vg version it needs the steep. The few vg versions I have tried from RF always seemed kind of weak to me. Especially the grape, which has a really great flavor but took 15% and a long steep.

    :)

The description on elr as musky is very true. I’m going to drop it so it’s just a little floral. You like TFA?

TFA is the best Blackberry flavoring, IMO. FA is good but when they get it wrong, they get it very, very wrong. Pineapple and Blackberry are two that come to mind.

You could try another coconut to help boost the jungle one you have. You could try TPA coconut extra or even TFA coconut candy(less steep time and not real sweet on its own) Coconut extra needs a steep tho.

    :)

I don’t have TPA Coconut Extra but regular TPA Coconut and Inwera Coconut.

I haven't tried the INW coconut so I don't know its taste. Maybe @PJReid can help with that one. If not maybe you can up the % of the coconut you already have in the mix. I would start small tho.

    :)

Ok I think that’s what I’ll do. Maybe 2% more.

You can use the TFA coconut...I am sorry, I didn't remember what you had in it already and thought it was the TFA(memory is shot). TFA coconut is good but start maybe @1%. Remember you can always add but its hard to get it out once its in there.
    :)

    eta
IIRC both the TFA coconut and TFA coconut candy don't require long steeps. Maybe a day or three.

I was just reading the flavor notes again for the TFA Coconut and I think that’s exactly what I’ll do.

I also didn’t realize how long Coconut needed to steep for. This is my first foray into coconuts.

    Thanks again.

RF(SC). Mixed it the 13th and plums are known for fading like some citruses. But then there are several RF(SC) that you have to go higher than usual for a SC.

Out of the few RL flavors I have tried(I tried like 7 or 8), the grape is the only one I liked.

    Any opinions on the grapes?^^^^
The RF I have previously mentioned is not tart, but not overly sweet either(to me). I am afraid that you would think it was too sweet because it does have some sweetness to it. Sorry I don't know of any tart grapes.
    :)

eta except for wine, which you already have.
