While you all are organizing, I’m trying inw Am4A for the first time. I mixed it at 3.5 solo like someone suggested and am liking it pretty well.
How long did you let it sit? Am4a is one I actually prefer fresh. Between 3 days, and 2 weeks seems to be my sweet spot. I like the early aromatics, and they seem to dissipate after about the first 2 weeks, and it settles down into a more "ordinary" tobacco.

If you find you like Am4a, and want to keep exploring; several folks recommend mixing it with INW Gold Ducat (3:1, to 2:1 Am4a:Gold Ducat). It is supposed to be "all that and a bag of chips." I have purchased the Gold Ducat, but haven't yet tried it. One word of caution: Gold Ducat is supposed to be a real coil killer, so be forewarned. Try to keep it at, or below, 1%, for better coil life.

Fran, a simple locator system would make finding ingredients a snap, and eliminate future reorganizing unnecessary too.

Since you are using the nail polish cases, I would consider something like:
-- Identify each box (perhaps by letter: "A," "B," "C," etc.)
-- Then, identify each slot (numerical: 1 through 60, or however many spaces each case has)
This can be done with a label maker, decals, or even a Sharpy marker. Whatever is convenient, and easy to read.

Then, you can easily add the location, to however you like to record your flavors. By flavor type/group, manufacturer, or however. As new flavors are added, you just insert them into the next available slot, and add it to your list. No reshuffling. And, no re-writing lists. The locator system tells you exactly where it is at. (And, you don't have to learn a new "system.") :)

Hitt, I don't know how you keep records (on paper, or on computer).

But, if by computer; there are at least a few e-liquid calculators, that will automatically track inventory for you. You input quantity as you buy (or estimate, if you already have existing on-hands). Then, the software automatically deducts the appropriate amount, each time you make a recipe. Usually, you can set "threshold" alarms/alerts, that will notify you when it is time to order more. Programs like @HotRod19579's Juice Calculator (free), Juice Grinder (inventory tracking available with paid "donation"), and I think(?) @Scubabatdan's spreadsheet calculator, are just a few examples.

If, you are like Fran, and prefer to keep paper records; I used to use the following simple method. It is not automatic. Nor is it as precise as the e-liquid calculators. But, it got the job done, without much fuss.

-- Anytime I grabbed a concentrate, and was concerned that it was low, I would put a small circle next to the name on my inventory sheet (in pencil; so it could later be easily erased).
Then, when I went to place an order, I could quickly scan down the list, and see what I was low on.
-- Once I built, placed, and paid for the order, before I logged off the ordering session; I would use the electronic receipt to go back and place an "X" in each circle (again; in pencil) of each ordered ingredient. (Doing this from the receipt, cut down on miss-marks of flavors, I was waffling on ordering. Marking ones I eventually skipped, or not marking ones I actually ordered.)
-- Finally, when the order was delivered; I would erase each "X'd" circle, as I unpacked, verified, and put away each ingredient. This kept the inventory current, and alerted me to any miss-ship/no-ship problems, that required followup.

Using this method, I could tell at a glance, what needed to be ordered, what was already on order, and what was good for the time being. Though... it did depend on me, making that first mark, when I thought it was low... so, it wasn't foolproof.:facepalm: :laugh::laugh::laugh:
Interesting ideas! You've inspired me to make a printable version of my spreadsheet.
I use a spreadsheet too, and I just use a column with 5 fill colors

Green = Second bottle on the shelf
Orange = enough in stock, no backup
Red = need to order
Blue = on order
Purple = use up, don't re-order

So if a bottle looks low, I can check for a second bottle, if there isn't one I mark it red.

If a bottle runs out, I grab my spare and change the color from green to orange.

Etc. It has been working well.....
Good idea.
Keep the list in a spreadsheet, sort on any column :)
That's how I do it so far.

One, that briefly caught my eye, was Evernote. It offers free and paid versions. I never really dug into it. So, I can't speak to how well it works, or what features it offers. But, it may be worth looking at. If memory serves me correctly; it was recommended by another ECF member.

I use Evernote for my notes (flavour notes, not recipes or stash). It has heaps of features and is free for 2 devices and syncs between them.

Very useful, I can recommend it highly......

If it helps you out; I am glad!:thumb:

However, I was trying to help Fran brainstorm ideas, for keeping hand-written records (she's a bit "new software" apprehensive ;)). I personally gave up on keeping paper records (for DIY) a couple of years ago. Digital record keeping is just too easy for me. Being able to sort, search, add, change, delete, and save.... all in a moment... is just too convenient for me. I just make sure, I keep the data backed up on three separate mediums, in case disaster strikes.

If you are using a spreadsheet, and want to incorporate a locator system; you can (as others have already mentioned) insert an extra column. Or, for a lower tech method, simply make the location part of the ingredient name.

But, if having a printable list is helpful, or makes DIYing easier/more enjoyable; then I say "go for it!" :D

Thank you for sharing some first-hand experience.:thumbs:

If a sortable version of a paper list is required, have we thought about a card file?

You can get some nice little boxes for business cards, some even have alphabetic dividers. Then you could get some blank business cards and BOOM!

It might even work for recipes?

    That was one option I considered but I went with a small binder instead. I've only gotten 4 of my recipes in it so far. Life's tragedies got in the way but I hope to get back to it sometime soon and I also want to try a calculator.

    I didn’t realize I had let it steep that long but according to the date on the bottle it’s been 25 days. I’ll have to try another one at a week or so to see the difference.

    I'm selling our car to bf for 2k. I don't drive and there's no sense in keeping it for a yard ornament.2012 with high mileage and starting to smoke. He's just buying it for a beater so he can let his new car sit a bit. I coulda maybe got a bit more for it but he helps me out a bunch.

    Nicotine Giant which was RTS Vapes out of Charlotte NC is having a 75% off sale on Inawera and Flavor Jungle flavors from now until Sunday at 11:59PM. Code IWFJ75.
    There's always a huge sale that pops up just AFTER I buy something... :grr:

    Speaking of storage/sorting... I've got 2 of those thread/nail polish cases that are still empty (I bought 4), so I'm not in danger of losing my sorting scheme yet (by flavor type/grouping, then flavor name; manufacturer doesn't come into play at all), but I do have a problem with those bottles that are larger than 10/30ml or those oddly shaped ones that won't fit. How/where do you all store those bottles that will not fit into the 1" x 3" spaces (I've used up the 2 larger sized sections for a few of them already)? Right now, I have them contained in ziplock bags, in no particular order.

    Another week has gone by and still no tests of the Custard King nor the Cheesecake Base V3... They'll be well steeped, I suppose. :lol:

    I have never bought anything more than 30ml size so no suggestions here.

    I have mine in a small shadowbox (used like a tray). I don’t have many larger than 30 ml, but it keeps them upright and separated enough to read the labels. It does take up space, but I already had the shadowbox... it momentarily serves the purpose. If you come up with a solution, let me know!

    I just keep all my 2 and 4oz bottles in a box in my vape cabinet. I consider them to be refills. However, the stack on cases I have will allow to lay down a 4oz bottle and still close.

    I have two similar to these. I don't think my cups pull out though.
